My dog had a minor allergic reaction on his paw, so I brought him in. The "vet" never even examined him, yet proceeded to tell me he had a liver issue and a blood test was required. My dog is 3 years ago and entirely healthy other than this sore on his paw. He drew blood and then "prescribed" medications I didn't even ask for. I walked out of there $501 lighter, and didn't even get any advice. When the blood test comes in, I'm sure it will indicate more tests for some serious ailment my happy energetic dog requires. It's all a big scam and is quite sickening. My vet friend just told me to get him off chicken, which he gets a lot of. Why could the "vet" just make some recommendations instead of stealing my money?

Dr. Garg and his staff at Walnut Grove Animal Hospital are truly amazing people. I brought my dog Nancy here with a serious dewclaw problem Dr. Garg and his staff took an exceptional care of him. I will certainly be back here for years to come.

We took our dog here to be examined and possibly put to rest recently. Dr.Garg was abominable. Not only did he not even introduce himself or say hello, he did not even examine our dog! He saw her tumour, asked us her age, and said 'She's had a good life' Dr.Garg proceeded to give her muscle relaxant, then an IV drip. Dr.Garg did not get the IV into the vein, only under her skin. Therefore , he then had to shave her other leg and place the IV there. At the end of her life, she was poked unnessecarily, by an ignorant and useless vet. Luckily she did not take long to pass, over all, this is the worst veterinarian to take your pets to. Do not go here. I wish I took our beloved dog somewhere else.

I brought my puppy here for the first time and was very very disappointed. I was not greeted when I walked in, even when stating who I was and what the appointment was for they didn't acknowledge me at all. Once seeing the Vet he was stand off ish and wouldn't answer the questions we had. If he did answer the question he would say it in a demeaning way and if we did not understand he would ignore the question or make us feel stupid for asking. All throughout the appointment the Vet kept adding things to our bill without asking permission or explaining what was being added. I don't usually write reviews but thought I should for this clinic. I will never be visiting this place in the future my pet deserves someone who is going to care about him and his health and not just see him as a dollar sign.

pPease DO NOT take your pet for surgery here. We had a horrendous experience from the day of surgery until we had to have our beloved dog put down due to a complication from surgery. They did not do the surgery on time, leaving us to bring home a sedated dog who wasn't in good shape. Our other option was to leave her unattended at the clinic. Dr. Garg never listened to my concerns, always diagnosing something else for her problems, prescribing medicine she did not need, and taking her back to be hospitalized. I don't think he had a clue, he grasped at straws and I lost my best friend in the world. Our family is heartbroken, and fully believe our dog would be alive today if not for the surgery and treatment at this clinic. The two other vets we took her to coudln't help, it was too late. DO NOT GO THERE, I don't want anyone to go through what we have been through. The cost is much too high, my beloved, sweet, dog is gone, and she didn't deserve what she went through. It haunts me.

This is some of what happened with their staff member Debora when I took my 2 dogs for dental. Just before leaving I asked if I could take a copy of the quote on service I signed now, or when I drop them off at 12. She informed me that they don't give out copies of quotes when someone drops off their pets. I said that I've never heard of a place not giving out a written quote on someone that they've agreed to. She then informed me that "the doctor does whatever he wants... he's East Indian, what can she say". I was personally offended by these comments as I truly like the Dr regardless of race, but found her derogatory racist remarks towards him disgusting. I immediately informed her that what she said was racist and that her remarks were uncalled for, unprofessional, and way out of line. Race should of never been brought into why she feels the Dr does what he does. As I left she actually followed me to my car in the parking lot begging me not to say anything, and that she was sorry.

A big shout out to the staff and the Vet of Walnut Grove Animal clinic for taking such a great care of my cutie (Pixie, my cat) who was not feeling well from last so many months. Tried few other clinics (don't want to name) but Dr. Garg from the day one was very clear in his approach of dignosing and treated my little cat who really means a lot to me. Extremely satisfied with the services of this clinic.

Had been to few other clinics in lower mainland , doc's there couldnt diagnose properly and i ended up spending hundreds of dollars without much imlrovement in dog's health. Prices here are not very high and you get quality treatment and care. Thank you walnutgrove hospital

My wife and I have been taking our two cats here since she moved to the city 6 years ago. Our regular vet is Dr. Garg, and he is absolutely fabulous. He always remembers our cats, has a very gentle and calm manner, and is quite knowledgable. One of our cats is always getting into trouble and the other one is a bit of a stressball, so we're no strangers to multiple vet visits a year. I have never once had a problem getting a same day appointment (they even let you drop off if you can't make a specific time and the vet will call with results) or getting in for yearly check ups at a fairly convenient time (but not always on a weekend). Dr. Garg was even willing to stay late to see one of our cats when our garage door broke pulling out of the garage on the way to the vet -- I was stuck at work, and my wife had to wait for the repair guy. I believe they are worth every penny.

The dr. did a check up on my cat for my as I had newly adopted her. She had two rounds of deworming within the last 3 weeks he suggested I do another 2 rounds just in case she brought something home. Which I didn't have a problem with. I could tell that the dr. did seem to genuinely care about animals but I was pretty upset with what happened next. When I took my cat home she started throwing up. I called the vet back and they said she should be fine. She was lethargic and curled up into a ball on my bed and wouldn't move, eat or drink. I read online it could be if she had to many worms but I didn't find a single worm in her stool. The second round the dr told me to do it was the same scenario. When I took her to another animal hospital and they read her prescription they told me they had given her double the amount for her weight and essentially overdosed and poisoned my cat. I was not happy as no one likes to see their pet suffering especially from something avoidable.

Regardless of what any previous poster has said, this place is great and I can only bless them.
Excellent vets, very knowledgeable and very caring. I've used Walnut Grove Animal Hospital for about 10 years. Especially Dr Garg is very nice and well educated in what he do. They diagnosed and treated my dog and a cat for diabetes, and a thyroid problem for well over 5 years. It was through their diligent care that my pets lived a long happy life. Not only are they always available in times of my pets stress but their ability to diagnose and prescribe an immediate and effective remedy quickly is just one indication of their brilliance and honorable concern for all the voiceless beings they care for. They never hesitated to recommend diagnostics. Their conscious effort to maintain the highest level of care has often translated itself into natural remedies as simple as adding or subtracting certain foods as well as trying the least invasive and least toxic solution first!

A wonderful place, the doctor is very experienced, knowledgeable and professional, the staff is very nice and caring.
The kindness and expertise of the veterinarian is well worth it. The doctor will exhaust all measures to make sure the correct diagnosis is reached, rather than just make assumptions, tell you what you want to hear, or require unnecessary tests. Sometimes the wait is typically long, but once it is your turn, you will see that they devote as much time and attention as your animal needs. They never try to rush you out so they can get to the next customer, and they always take the time to thoroughly explain everything. They are very kind and dedicated to the science of veterinary medicine. I highly recommend this practice, especially Dr. Garg. I have also heard absolutely wonderful things about Dr. Garg from friends. He really cares about you as a client and about your animals. He always takes the time to pet them before we leave which I appreciate.

I had a family member take my lab there for shots and a check up. My female lab is almost 6, very healthy and eats a natural holistic diet. The vet told my mom she had stomach issues he could hear and that she needs to go on their crappy food ( I read the ingredients). I chose not to do that and she is still just fine. I just recently added a rotti female to our family... Took here there at 12 weeks for second set of shots and he listened to her stomach and said she also needed to go on their food. I also didn't do that and my puppy is great on her food. My puppy also squirmed for her shots; he literally stabbed her with the needle and my pup had a lump on her neck for 2 weeks. Don't ever take your dog to this scam artist vet. After all this I have heard other people having issues too with walnut grove animal hospital.

This is one of the best vet clinics I've been to in a very long time. The staff is amazing and the vet there takes time to explain everything he does. my husband and I felt there prices were very reasonable for the service they provided. We would definitely be going back and would highly reccommend them.

In one word? Perfect! I have been to many pet hospital but the care and service coupled with the cost I got at Walnut grove is the best. The doctor and staff are knowledgeable and seemed genuinely concerned with the well being of my pets.I live in Surrey. It is very hard to find a pet hospital you can trust to care for your pets. And I will only refer people to a vet I would trust, and I highly recommend this hospital to anyone. They have often advised me if I want they could do this or that test, but why waste my money when this or that will tell us the same thing? Of course they will run tests when they need to, but I like how they inform me and allow me to make the choice. As an animal lover they tell you what they recommend, but they wont push or force you into anything you don't feel comfortable doing for your pet and/or financially. I would only take our animals to this place, as they deserve the best care possible.

I have been to this clinic a number of times and I have always been impressed. The staff is all very friendly and really care a lot for the pets. Whenever I come, they great me with a smile and ask how my pets are doing. Whenever I talk on the phone with anyone, the first thing they do is ask how they are, even if I haven't been in for a while! I always find that the prices here are cost-effective. The doctor has even provided some services as a courtesy!!! It helps that the clinic is right near-by and open every day and until pretty late, but I would keep going here even if it wasn't! I highly recommend Walnut Grove Animal Hospital to anyone!

This is for 20995 88ave Langley. Worst experience ever. My cat didnt have his declaw surgery on time. They said theyd call when his surgery was done and they didn’t. Nor did they tell me he was ready for pick up. His pain patch was already off when he got home. I had to tie it on as they had nothing to help secure it despite knowing this is an issue with all patches. His cone was too small and he could LICK HIS WHOLE PAW. I asked for a bigger cone which I had to pay for. His paw became infected. I took him in and they neglected to clean it, just gave me meds. They neglected to tell me about diarrhea being a possibility, and to stop treatment if that happened. He was on meds for 2 days and they said “If his paw looks okay, just stop treatment.” IM NOT A VET. HOW SHOULD I KNOW? If you love your pet, take them to where they do laser declaw and don’t neglect animals. I found out too late. They also neglected to mention that laser declaw was an option, they just didn’t have the machine.

This was the worst experience ive had with service and my cat was very sick so im worried at the same time.my vet was closed so i had to come here even though i heard the doc is rude. The doctor was snappy at me saying i do t understand ehat the problem is!! He was aggressive with my cat, asked what his name was at the END of the visit. He shaved half my cats neck to take a blood test, told me that what they always do when in fact you do not have to do that... He left the room saying he's going to get a swab , waited for 20 minutes cause he took a call. They never called me the next day for results, i called , they said he call me right back, i had to call back 4 hours later!they again took a message.finally called back at 830pm.i requested results to be sent to fort Langley, they never did. It was a horrible experience for me and my poor sick cat. I recommend fort Langley or Langley animal hospital.

We went to this hospital when we got our Lab, a 6 week old puppy. It was recommended by a friend of ours who had been going to them for years. After our first visit for the puppy we were very pleased by their professionalism. They educated us about many important things about pet care. Their knowledge, service and care always outperformed. They are not only cost effective but quality oriented and consistently provided value for our money. We highly recommend them to everyone! When our Beagle needed highly complicated and costly surgery they did all kind of help to save our beloved dog from euthanasia. Doctor & staff never push for any procedure on our pets, rather give us our options and their recommendations, and explain everything to us. We have complete trust in them and their care of our pets. Our pets are a huge part of our family. Thank you Walnut Grove for your dedication to your profession.

I moved to this area a couple of months ago and I have been looking for a pet clinic where I could take my Pekinese. I asked a few of my friends in the area to guide me on this as am always a little hesitant to see any new vet. Most of my friends recommended Walnut Grove Clinic. When I first went there, I was very pleased with my overall experience. The staff is extremely friendly and everytime, the doctor spends a lot of time examining and explaning what he is doing. Their prices are very reasonable, which is another thing that keeps me coming back to them. But most importantly, I feel that Pekinese is getting the best care I could find in this area. I recommend them without any hesitency!

Took my little pitt bull in for an ear hematoma last week. My old vet wanted over $700.00 to do this quick surgery. Dr, Garg charged me under $500.00 and did the surgery that afternoon allowing me to bring my dog home that evening. I was very pleased with his work and the fact that he allows me to help make the choices on what is best for my dogs. Thank you very much for being there and helping me out in a time of need...deb

A special thanks to the staff at Walnut Grove Animal Hospital. I have 2 dogs and one cat. I have been their client for more than 12 years now, I believe. I recently moved to Coquitlam but still dont mind driving there.
I have great trust in their ability. My dog Austin was saved by them when he was injured badly with multiple fractures. He was hit by my neighbor's car. In 2010, with their persistent care they treated Leo, my cat having severe heart disease, thyroid problem & both the kidneys gone. Leo would be 19 years tomorrow. Thanks to Dr Garg. He is a great Vet. I will certainly recommend him and his wonderful team. Casey B.

I work here what-so-ever written here is all crap. This is one of the best hospital in the area. Our clients know about it. They also are able to distinguish our services. We are one of the oldest set up in the area, more than 20 years adhering to the value practice. All this malicious propaganda seems somebody has some hidden motive in it. We are very much transparent in our working. Anybody can come without telling us & have a visit to our facility. Brenda has been working here more than a decade. Our strong area lies in our honesty, experience and knowledge.

The first rating on 10/25 regarding a misdiagnosis of my dog at Walnut Grove Animal Hospital is incorrect. I have requested the moderator of the "Rate a vet" site to remove this post/rating. The facts were misunderstood by a family member. The truth of the situation is that my dog has never been treated by Dr Garg and has never been to the Walnut Grove Animal Hospital. I hope this clears any confusion. Thank you.

Dr Garg has no idea what he is doing. Diagnosed wrong illness in my dog and prescribed medication not needed. The other vet hurt my dog through rough handling. This is the second time my dog has been wrongly diagnosed by Dr Garg. Another vet in the area told me that he is doing very well cleaning up Dr Garg's messes. If you care about your animal don't go there!! The first time I thought anyone can make a mistake but twice.....that's incompetence.

me and my 3 pets have been with Dr. Gerg for many years. the hospital offers many facilities like thier new Ultrasound!!! I highly recommend them to everyone out there. Our pit x needed surgery on his knees and Dr. Gerg let us make payments and helped cover the cost from the hospital side. and saved our wonderful dog from to be put to sleep. Dr. Gerg even met us at our house as it was hard for us to bring the big dog to the clinic. dr. gerg also came outside the hospitals hours because my dog needed serious attention. and instead of taking to emergency where they would charge me fortune. he doesn't force random treatments and explains using the box with evidence. i am proud to say i can trust him with my son, Rolo. continue the great service. thank you Dr. Gerg and your team. =) and Rolo loves the bushes nearby to do his business. hehehe hope you dont mind. thanks

as a family we'd been going to this clinic for years and were always pleased until recently. the new vet was at home sleeping the last two times we went and the staff had to call and inform him his appointment was in. he seems very indifferent to owners concerns, however when we took our pets back in after a treatment of antibiotics for a check up he did not charge us for that visit which was appreciated since we'd spent 400$ one week before.

A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Garg. I used to take my 2 cats to another clinic but wasn't very pleased so I decided to give this hospital a try. I'm glad I went because I really liked the fact that Dr. Garg takes extra time not only during the appointment but also after the fact as I also received recheck calls personally from him. I was paying much higher price at the other hospital and the other doctor barely spent 5 minutes during the appointment. If you want proper care, treatment and enough time spent on your pet, for a reasonable price, definitely give this hospital a try.
