Click to report rating    12/15/23   1     2     1     1   Tom seems to just not care anymore.  His lack of effort almost cost our dog her life.  He ignored the symptoms and made mistakes.   He takes no responsibility and hides behind his rude business manager.  Woodlands vet is a mess, expensive and should be avoided.  No a great experience at all RID: 70957
Click to report rating    9/21/20   5     5     5     5   After my third visit here, I feel compelled to make sure people know the honest truth about this clinic. It is easily the best service I've received for anything, including my own personal healthcare. Dr. Nagy is obviously extremely knowledgeable but also incredibly patient and is great at explaining everything. She remembered my pup after just one visit and loves to give him healthy treats so his experience is more positive. After a very short visit for a damaged puppy tooth, she switched roles with me and helped me see what she was seeing so that I knew what to look for in his teeth. She also thoroughly described everything she is feeling and looking at when doing her general wellness exam on my puppy, which was incredible in helping me know what to look for if something is wrong, or just in general day to day health checks on my pup. I'd like to include the front desk staff and nurses and all other staff for being so friendly and helpful as well. Totally worthwhile visit every time. RID: 69549
Click to report rating    8/20/18   5     5     5     5   I was referred to this clinic for a severe bite problem called base narrow canines for my dog that my regular vet was not capable of fixing. Dr. MacKenzie was very thorough in explaining how it happened, options for fixing it and what to expect. He even showed me all the pictures and xrays he took during the procedure. I was a little worried that there was a device that need to be attached to the teeth for several weeks. You know what! She didn't even notice and was totally fine eating and drinking! When the appliance cameoff she was 100% normal! My experience at this clinic was great! RID: 66672
Click to report rating    2/20/18   5     5     5     5   Fantastic clinic. I started taking my dog here when I first moved to Calgary (their old location) and stayed with them when I moved multiple times. All of the vets know my dog's history now and treat her with great care. They helped me when she had a dental procedure go wrong at another clinic and give me helpful advice and choices when making decisions regarding procedures and veterinary care. They are honest and up front about prices and although they may not be the cheapest in the city (esp. dentals) they are WELL worth the money. I trust all the vets there to make choices regarding my pet's well being. The vet techs are always friendly and kind to my dog. I have started taking my new cat as well and the locum vet we had was also kind to her and helpful with advice. You cannot go wrong with Woodlands. I hope I will never have to find another vet clinic to go to! RID: 65616
Click to report rating    9/12/16   5     5     5     5   The best vet clinic in town! I had a couple of times where my pets had to see a vet ASAP. They were not a dog or cat and while I was in a pinch I got excellent care considering the circumstances! The vets and staff are very kind caring people. The clinic is very clean and organized. I understand that they can be expensive I believe that you get what you pay for with this clinic! RID: 61553

4/29/16   5     5     5     5   I've been taking my cats to Woodlands Veterinary Hospital for almost 35 years. A co-worker first told me about the Woodlands Veterinary Hospital; he said that was were he took his dog and highly recommended them to me. I would highly recommend them as well. The doctors and staff have always given the very best care to my cats and I feel very comfortable with them looking after the medical and nutritional needs of my pets. The doctors and staff are highly skilled and knowledgeable but what impresses me the most is how kind and caring they have always been towards my pets. They are always very helpful and friendly, and I feel that they make the welfare and well-being of the animals their top priority. RID: 60436

Click to report rating    11/20/15   5     5     5     5   I must say that in all the vet clinics that I have been to with all my pets over the years, that this one is by far the best that I've gone to. All the doctors there are very informative, they want the best for your animal and actually took the time to look over my dog fully to make sure he was healthy. The back staff were so sweet and took care of my dog when he was there when he was sick and the front staff was very nice and knowledgeable and helped me with what I needed. I felt like I got the best care for my baby. Thank you team woodlands once again for taking care of my fur baby! RID: 59036
Click to report rating    10/27/15   3     4     3     1   RIPOFF! Like the other respondant, I was quoted $1,000 to $2,000 for my pet's teeth to be fixed. Also got a surprise $4,000 bill! Recently compared their prices to other vet clinics. They are way overpriced! RID: 58809
Click to report rating    5/23/15   5     5     5     5   My family has been bringing our pets to Woodlands for years. We love the staff and they always do a careful job. Our dog was diagnosed with cancer last year and Dr. LeBoldus helped us though a very difficult time and helped make him comfortable until it was time to put him to sleep. RID: 57117
4/17/15   1     2     1     1   I do not recommend this clinic to anyone. The vets do not listen and treat their staff poorly. The staff was very cold and impersonal and had no problem presenting me with a $4000 estimate with zero empathy. I would have paid it if they treated me and my dog better. Instead I went elsewhere and ended up paying more but for amazing service and medical care. RID: 56687
Click to report rating    4/15/15   5     5     5     4   These Guys are good! I brought my puppy here based on a recommendation of a friend. They were very thorough during the exam and asked lots of questions. I can't remember the name of the vet but he signed my sheet as Dr. M was great. He noticed that my puppy had a broken canine tooth. Apparently it could cause problems with the adult tooth. He made room for me 2 days later to have the baby one taken out. Prompt and attention to detail, what I'd want for my own medical care! RID: 56643
Click to report rating    1/16/15   5     5     5     5   This vet clinic has taken exceptional care of my dog over the years. He has had many breed specific issues and they have all been successfully treated at this clinic. Dr. Stewart Mackenzie is , in a word, amazing. He is a highly skilled expert in his field which could result in a stiff clinical demeanour yet he is friendly and approachable. His advice and care is always precise and I never feel up sold here. I am certain that my dog is in the very best hands with Dr. Mackenzie and the cost is well worth the end result. RID: 55481
Click to report rating    3/31/14   5     5     5     5   My dog was very sick last week so I called Woodlands. The receptionist was very nice and calming. She booked me in the same day to see the vet! I saw doctor Tom and he was wonderful. He did a test on my dog's stool and sent away some blood. My dog was sent home on some antibiotics and a special food. He is doing so much better and I am so relieved to have him healthy again. This is a fantastic clinic and the staff and doctors really care about animals! RID: 50795
Click to report rating    2/3/14   3     3     2     1   Was referred here by my regular vet because my dog had broken his tooth. The Dr said he would probably require a triple root canal and it would cost $4000. Booked him in for surgery. The front staff called me the next day and said they had to rebook his appointment, a few weeks later they called again to say that the Dr. couldn't do the surgery because he doesn't do root canals. Ended up getting so frustrated, because my dog had been not eating properly for a few months now waiting for this surgery to happen, that I went elsewhere for the procedure RID: 49617
Click to report rating    10/18/13   5     5     5     5   My dog was sick with an very upset tummy. I called to book an appointment and to my surprise they were able to fit my dog in that afternoon. I was greeted by a kind smile at reception( I believe it was Lyndsay) and the Dr was Tom LeBoldus. He was very helpful and knew exactly how to help. I was sent home with some medicine for my dog and a couple days later she was good as new. Thank you. RID: 47715
Click to report rating    9/25/13   5     5     5     5   I was referred here because my dog had a broken jaw from severely infected teeth in his lower jaw. I saw dr. MacKenzie who is finishing his residency with dr. Fabre. I was very worried bc my dog is very important to me and not very old, and apparently it is hard to get these kinds of broken jaws to heal well. Dr. MacKenzie was EXCELLENT! He answered my questions, calmed my fears, did the surgery with wire and hard plastic. I had to get him rechecked every couple of weeks, and didn't have to pay a fee unless it was for his pain meds or antibiotics! The cost was up there but worth every penny, as it worked and his jaw healed very well bc he can eat and play, you can't tell he ever had a broken jaw, and I thank them so much! RID: 47195
Click to report rating    9/10/13   5     5     5     5   Excellent experience over 8 years with our two small dogs - one of our puppies needed urgent dental surgery which was done immediately. Vets are easy to talk to and explain issues and treatments very well. Excellent follow up care after surgeries. RID: 46850
Click to report rating    7/5/13   2     4     3     2   For serious dental cases, Woodlands is your only option in Alberta. We had to take our dog there because of a fractured canine, but we live 3 hours away. The staff there could care less that we had to make this drive and made things difficult to book and coordinate. We were then told repeatedly that our dog would be ready after a few hours. We ended up having to spend the entire day waiting around, to then get lectured to about caring for our dogs. The fractured tooth was an accident caused by incompetence in a completely different vet clinic and had nothing to do with our caring for our dog. I understand that complications arise, but the staff could have at least apologized for the length wait. RID: 43500

Click to report rating    7/2/12   4     4     4     1   We had a quote for $1500 to have our dogs teeth cleaned, when I went to pick her up it was $4000. Apparently we signed a form stating they could do whatever necessary. The dog needed some teeth removed. I am unclear why you pay $12o for a consultation if their estimated is way off. At the time of the estimate I asked what removing teeth cost and she said they could do it very quickly and it shouldn't add much to the bill. I called many other vets and asked their fee for removing the same amount of teeth and none were over $1200.00. I called to check on the dog several time and no one told me about the bill until I picked the dog up. I had to pay the bill in full or would not get my dog back. It was a terrible financial burden and I felt completely ripped off!! Dr Faber was knowlegable and very good vet but too expensive. RID: 35369
Click to report rating    6/28/12   5     5     5     5   I highly recommend this clinic. I went here recently to see Dr. Faber for my dog's teeth. She was excellent, she described everything and ensured she covered all my questions. I then met with a nurse who went through the cost estimate with me line by line and answered again, any questions. Dr. Faber called after the procedure to update me on how it went and when I picked up my dog, I met with a nurse who walked me through a detailed list of care instructions before leaving. I also received a follow up call the next day to see how my dog was doing. The staff are friendly, professional, caring and have excellent follow through. The standard of service here is really impressive! RID: 35288
Click to report rating    2/13/12   5     5     5     5   I have been to many clinics, have had dogs and cats all my life and I am compelled to write a review due to the excellent quality of service my 10-year old best friend of a dog received. Dr.Sandwith did a very thorough examination and diagnosed what was wrong with him (too complicated to describe here)and now with treatment he is doing very well. Two other clinics were guessing and costing me so much money and still provided no solution. My buddy and I are very grateful for the level of care provided at this vet hospital. I recommend them highly. RID: 32196
Click to report rating    9/25/11   4     5     5     2   They are expensive and rotated through different vets each time we went so we never built a rapport. Different info came from two different vets on the same injury. RID: 27884
Click to report rating    1/10/11   5     5     5     5   They are really good here. I've been to cheaper clinics (and some more expensive)but didn't get the same help as this place. They took me in with no appointment and gave me advice I've never heard before. They were very good to my dog and fixed the problem quickly (ruptured anal gland). I have insurance so the cost was OK but friends say all the vets are about the same amount. RID: 21927
Click to report rating    6/7/10   5     5     4     3   My dog was a client with this clinic for over 5 years. The clinic is very clean, well staffed and friendly. Dr. Laboldus is very knowledgable and would never recommend something unessessary. RID: 18280
Click to report rating    5/4/09   5     5     5     5   Very good veterinarians there. They took the time to explain everything and focus on my concerns. The back staff are excellent, explaining everything I needed to know before I left with my pet.I was overall happy with the service there. RID: 12690
