Don't go here unless you can stand your ground on what services are to be done!! They charge too much and the vets are out to rip you off! The staff is amazing and very friendly and work hard to provide the best service and care. BUT, the vets are not to be trusted! They run bloodwork and other diagnostics that are un-needed. And they charge a huge amount for everything, especially lab work - twice as much as they should. They feel that because of the location, that their clients' pockets are deep and they charge them for every little thing. They seem to recommend things, like keeping a patient alone overnight instead of being sent to 24 hour facility, just to make more money - not because it's best for the patient. Basically, the staff is friendly and professional, but the vets are out to squeeze every penny they can out of you. Go elsewhere if you want to keep your money!

Pacific Palisades has a small, village atmosphere, and I was expecting warm, personal interaction with a vet in such a climate. (I grew up here and returned here to live several years ago.) My Golden Retriever is seven years old and, always, when he has been given shots, the veterinarian did it herself or himself. I was angry when a flunky was assigned to give my dog his shot, and he frightened my dog, and sort of jabbed the needle in. I was disappointed, and that ended my association with this vet, even though she (on the surface) seemed nice enough. My beloved companion has no facility with language; he depends only upon the kindness in a touch, a gentle word and a hug to establish trust. I count on a vet to understand that she must build a RELATIONSHIP with an animal if she is to properly serve him later, during an illness or a crisis later in his life. I will not return to a vet who has not figured out such an elementary aspect of her work.

The staff (except for the head vet) is GREAT! She is primarily a dog vet and should confine her individual practice to dogs. Cats, rabbits, etc. she seems to regard as curiosities, not beloved members of her client's families. I am very glad I took my cat in on a day when a substitute vet was there. I have spoken to ex-staff and heard some pretty far-out stories of how the head vet treats "her people": laying traps (false help wanted ads) for them online and firing them if they answered, etc. This doesn't feel professional.
