This is strictly about Dr. Adrian Walton, who clearly does not know the research supporting evidence showing just how much cats experience emotions and attachment. This is unfortunate.

Communication with vet very,very difficult. Though the vet promised me I could talk to her any time, Meaghan Crawford continually neglected to return my calls/emails. My dog has Addison's Disease and will always be on Florinef. I needed to renew RX and wanted a longer refill time. No one let me know at all that my dog would need a recheck for a larger refill. Untill the RCMP showed up at my house to tell me not to go back there. Now I was upset with the receptionists.(I slammed the door). Very unreasonable about putting my calls/msgs thru. I am out of pills and my dog will die without meds. I have to start over at a new vet and pay even more for new exams. Vet should not of promised me at the last exam, she was open to communication. Money grab I guess, not like I haven't already spent a few K there. Extremely upsetting.

This review is for "Dr." Walton the marine biologist turned cat and dog vet who CLAIMS he is a exotic vet. His online pressence is arrogant to say the least. He is very unprofessional, regularly engages in arguments and talks down on people when he doesnt agree with their views. He encourages hate speech and regularly turns to the reptile community for support in creating lynch mob mentalities.
He is a predator of people and takes pride in playing both sides of the fence when it comes to animal welfare.
Constantly is working under the privately owned and operated spca to secure a place on the board of directors. The man is more concerned with his own personal profits/appearance/agenda then actually helping animals in need.

Dr Meaghan Crawford, at Dewdney Animal Hospital, is probably the best vet I have ever had. She takes time to find out about your pet, and informs you of all your choices. She listens to your concerns and never tries to rush you. My pet was not doing very well, but Dr Crawford was able to find a medication routine that has given my pet the ability to live pain free and have a great life. I have given Dewdney Animal Hospital a great review, but really, the review is for Dr Crawford. I don't rate Dr Walton as highly. He was unable to control my pets pain and said it may be time to consider euthanasia. A year ago, I would have said Dr Walton was a great vet, but if was up to him, my pet would not longer be with us. One more thing, the staff on reception are so nice and helpful.

Dr. Walton is the most knowledgeable,caring and compassionate vet I have ever met! He covers all the bases in his exams and informs of all possibilities. He always puts our pets first and money second. I won't ever take my cats anywhere else again.

I just have to say that Dr. Walton is lovely. One of my cats is having urinary issues so I reached out over email looking for a second opinion. Sadly i was told that they were not taking new patients due to being down a vet. But Dr. Walton listening to my cats issue and was able to provide some input which I found to be reassuring. I really appreciate the fact that he seemed to care about my kitty, even though she could not become a patient at their clinic. Also as a side note, this is also the Clinic that m,y partners Ball Python goes to for her yearly check up, and the staff there are very friendly and helpful. Hopefully they will add another vet soon and will be able to take more patients.

Dr. Adrian Walton, I am convinced is the best veterinarian in Canada! We moved to Calgary roughly a year ago, and have not been able to find a vet as knowledgeable, caring and fairly priced as Dr. Walton. We are now driving back to BC annually to obtain regular care for our dog. She deserves the absolute best, and Dr. Walton is it! Thank you Dr. Walton for setting a new standard of veterinary practice. I wish everyone was as devoted to their patients and practice as you.

I brought my dog there after she had a seizure. He was the closest vet and to me it was an emergency. He was very nonchalant about it. Told me to just make sure she doesnt drive. Also asked me if I gave her pot, why the hell would I do that? She also had an ongoing ear infection but when he "examined" her he didn't even insert the instrument into her ear, it was pointing at the wall, she was moving around and I guess it was too much trouble for him so he pretended to take a look and said no problem here. His mind was not there at all, kept looking at the clock cause it was close to lunch time. I took her to another vet who diagnosed an ear infection and actually scolded me for letting it get so bad. He treated her and it cleared up in a few days. As for the seizure he so casually dismissed as nothing to worry about, it turned out that my little girl had a brain tumor. I just lost my best friend today after driving all the way to Saskatoon for radiation treatment. Words cant describe h

My dog was bleeding quite badly from a dog fight. I tried to get her into my regular vet but they couldn't see her right away. I called Dewdney Animal Hospital and seeing my dog wasn't a problem. They put her in first priority when I got there and the doctor was very gentle with her. She explained what our options were but most importantly I felt comfortable leaving my dog with them. They may be a bit pricier than some other vets in town, but the service and pet care is worth it. I will be bringing my dogs and cat here from now on.

The clinic was clean and very nice. The exam went well and the Dr was very thorough. While paying another dr came out and started talking about other clinics in the area and was putting them down. He also boasted about how he was the best around and because of it he was stealing other clinics business. This came off as arrogance and was very unprofessional. You could tell the other staff were uncomfortable. If i return I do not want to see the arrogant doctor.

Wow, what a great clinic. I thought I was going to have to put my cat down because it was going to cost $700 to give him fluids at the hospital. Dr Walton showed me how to do it at home. It might not work, but at least its a chance, I would have had to put my cat to sleep otherwise

Dr. Walton has been a dream come true! I rescued my dog from a local shelter about a year ago and she required some medical procedures to be done. I took her in and he explained everything to me in terms I could easily understand. I felt confident leaving my dog with him, and was impressed by his reasonable prices. Even after being spayed and multiple surgeries on her eyes, my dog still loves visiting and never wants to leave!

I have been going to this clinic for about 20 years. As an avid dog sport and working dog enthusiast it is important to have a good vet that is reliable, and understands what they are doing when it comes to nutrition and sport rehab. Dr McDowell and Dr Walton are the best vets I have encountered and I drive an hour out of my way to go there. And it's so nice when the vet doesn't rip you off!! Love this clinic, highly recommend it for anyone!

Without a doubt, Dr. Adrian Walton is a the most devoted, caring, knowledgeable and empathic of vet's. When my cat was ailing from kidney disease and it was time to put her to sleep, it was Boxing Day and he was en route from Toronto back to Vancouver, yet he answered my email and the next day came to my house and with a loving assistant and helped Sasha pass. Soon after I received an amazing bouquet of flowers, a condolence card from him and the staff, and a lovely letter and card from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (Saskatoon)for Dr. Walton's contribution towards their companion animal program in memory of my cat. He was also extremely forgiving on my numerous vet bills. When Sophie, the sister to Sasha passed of FIV the following year, I received the flowers and cards once again. His clinic also is a wildlife rehabilitation centre and an exotic animal clinic - mainly reptiles. He is the best!!!!

I had to take my cat to the vet on Monday morning as she was very lethargic and I knew something was wrong. I searched online for a good vet and this clinic had the best rating. So off I went at 8am. My initial interaction with the woman at the desk was not good. I was so upset because I knew I wanted my cat at this vet so I didn't want to leave yet I had to keep my mouth shut otherwise I would have to leave. So she had left the front for a minute and upon her return I said to her that if this was how they make first impressions then this was not good. She immediately apologized and I put my hand and said, we are good. I didn't care why she was in a bad moood just that she apologized. I will be picking my kitty up in the morning and was told they don't charge for overnight stays. WHAT!!! So I have found my new vet and will recommend them to any and all.

I just took both of my cats here today. I've never even heard of this vet but I so wish I did. Both my cats might have had some rat poison so we took them in. Dr.Walton is awesome. He did the blood tests, and gave me peace of mind unlike other vets. And the prices for the hospital are very good. Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Walton cares so much for all the animals that come under his care.
2 years ago our newly purchased Chihuahua puppy got extremely ill with coccidia at just 12 weeks old.
Dr. Walton and his staff treated her at the clinic, and when things looked bad, he decided to take Lily home to keep a close eye on her condition and to cuddle her and keep her warm all night.
He took the time to call us at 11:30 at night to let us know how she was doing. Things did not look good, and we expected the worst.
When the call came in the morning, we got fantastic news. He (and his wife) had stayed up all night with Lily was able to pull her though one of the worst cases of coccidia he had seen.
We are grateful to all of his staff as well, because the care continued at the clinic the next day, as they all took turns carrying our Lily like a baby kangaroo in a pouch.
We were fortunate. Today Lily is happy and healthy, thanks to Dr Walton and his staff.

After a few bad expeiences in other vets in Maple Ridge I took my neighbors advice and tried Dewdney. They blew me away with the care they had for my dog and cat.Very reasonable prices too. He told me he was going to call and check up on my dog and ....he did! Also during my cats check up he included my daughter by allowing her to listen to the cats heart,the other vets I went to in the past didn't even notice her in the room. In my eyes these guys deserve a 10 not only a 5!!

Dr Walton is the BEST reptile vet in the lower mainland. He performed surgery on my veiled chameleon. She had a serious impaction, and he removed it to save her life. He is extremely knowledgeable and I highly recommend him for reptiles/ exotic pets.

I would not even consider any animal clinic except for Dewdney Animal Hospital. They genuinely understand that our pets are part of our family. There have been times that they indulged us in bringing in our dogs just to put our minds at rest putting aside they were extremely busy. I can't recommend them higher.

Dr.Walton is by far the best vet I've ever met. We've taken our pets there for years now and have never had any complaints about service. The vet techs are amazing! They are super friendly and they all really care about the animals. When my puppy had an allergic reaction to her vaccinations, I called in a panic, they told me to bring her in even though they were closing in 5 minutes. Dr Walton took the time to explain everything to me, and even gave me his cell# in case she got worse overnight. I'll never visit another vet! We've moved out of Maple Ridge but distance has no hold over the amazing service we recieve at Dewdney Animal Hospital

Of all the vets I've used, he is simply the best - he truly cares and loves animals! He also helps the owners cope with difficult situations and decisions. He is the only vet I will recommend.

Took my dog to Dr. McDowell to get his ear stitched up. Quoted me one price and when I went to pick him up the bill was almost double. He also over did the anesthesia, my dog was totally out of it for almost 16 hours. I was so worried I had to call the emergency clinic at 1am.

Dr.Walton's passion is animals and it shows in every aspect of the care he provides. You can't choose a better veterinarian for the care of your animals period. Dr. Walton takes the time to explain things to you and still lets you make the best informed decision for your pet. I appreciate his knowledge, understanding, care, and patience. My Pekingese, Mr. P.J. developed Kennel Cough and I had called the clinic to bring him in. Even though I was unable to make it through traffic in time to get there before they closed, Dr. Adrian Walton waited for me to get there. How many Vets do you know who would do that? He was knowledgeable, listened to what I told him, thoroughly examined my dog,handled my pet with care, showed me how to administer the medication, and answered all my questions. Even though I had kept Dr. Walton at the clinic after hours, he did not give me the bums rush to finish up & go home. And to top it off, my bill did NOT cost me an arm & a leg & my first born. The facility was very up to date, clean, bright & spacious. A well kept clinic like this with a genuinely caring vet who doesn't rip you off is a RARE FIND. I live in Vanouver but would make the long trip out to Maple Ridge anytime for my vet needs. I highly recommend this pet hospital. ***** (5 stars) A. Tse

While both Bill McDowell and Adrian Walton are wonderful vets, would also like to commend their staff as well. Darcy has to be the best vet tech in the Lower Mainland! Very caring and knowledgable staff and doctors alike!! The only place I would ever take my dogs.

We decided on Dr Walton for our new pup after he was highly recommended to us by a few people. I have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff. Dr Walton has been very reasonably priced, he has called at home to check up on my dog after his surgery, and really has gone the extra mile. My dog loves going to see him - even after being neutured lol. I am so thankful to have Dr Walton as our Vet, especially after some of the horror stories I've heard about other Vets. It's really nice to see people in their chosen profession for the right reasons.

Dr. Adrian Walton has helped us with our pets for a few years now. He is always straight forward and let's us know precisely what is going on. Hi staff are friendly and courteous, they genuinely care about you and your pet. Add to that that Dr. Walton knows his way around exotics, and you have the perfect vet! fin, feather, skin or fur they will be very well take care of at this vet! Truely the best I have ever experienced!
