I just wanted to say that I am a veterinary technician myself, and even though I would get discounted vet care through my own clinic I STILL take my dog to see Dr. Macquisten. Yes, I pay more taking him there, but you truly do get what you pay for, and it is worth it for my peace of mind. Working in the field you learn that there are very few vets that take the time he does. I would take my dog to a specialty surgeon for surgery but for checkups and basic illnesses I always drive the 45 minutes to Whatcom. I only dropped the staff rating due to dealing with Celine.

Love Dr. Macquisten. He has been taking care of my dog for 13 years, and always has time and patience for any questions you may have. Fabulous bedside manner, a very caring and gentle man. Have seen Dr. Borgmann there too, when my own vet was not on call that day, and she was great as well. The reception staff are awesome, never had a problem. As for cost, all vets are costly, but you get when you pay for when it comes to your family members, no matter how hairy! Hopefully Dr. Macquisten will never retire. When it comes to punctuality, not such an issue, I'm glad he doesn't rush our appointments, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't rush others either. That is a good thing. Wish Dr. Macquisten was MY doctor!

This clinic is fantastic! The staff is well informed, helpful and caring and the doctors are amazing. The exam prices are a little more than other places but the food and meds are the same or cheaper and I believe you get what you pay for. I would rather pay a bit more for full service that be sucked in by a cheap exam fee and then be billed for every tiny thing that is done after that. Highly recommend Whatcom Road!!!

I have been taking my dog, Maggie, to this clinic for years. I love Doctor Pechey and Borgmann! They treat Maggie like she's not just a pet, but a family member and treat me like I'm not just another client, but a friend. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable and the ammenities are comfortable and clean. It's nice not feeling like I'm in an doctor's office, but rather a welcoming living room. I know my Maggie loves coming to visit the doctors at Whatcom and I intend to take her here until her final day!

I am relatively new to whatcom vet hospital, we have a new puppy that is 7months old, we have just had her spayed. Dr. Mcquisten is my most favorite vet ever....(we've had past pets and gone to other hospitals) He is so compassionate and caring....very informative and never feel rushed out of the office. The vet assistant that we've dealt with is great.... the only problem I have is the fact that I didn't get a puppy start up pack and I referred 2 people there and didn't get my gift that I was supposed to get . Thats okay though because my pets welfare is way more important than a couple of complimentary gifts!!!! Dr. Mcquisten your the best and thank-you for taking such good care of "Harley"

I find this place overpriced for a middle class family. It has a nice feel and is a nice facility. However, when I brought my puppy in for his boosters they injected in his leg muscle. He was crying and was sorry on that leg for days:( no other vet that I use ever causes my dog to cry when he gets his shots. They were in a rush abd didn't take the time to be careful and gentle with my 8 week old puppy. I don't think that is the good start we want with our pets. I personally will never go there again. I do know a family member that had a dog having delivery trouble that they were able to take in and save the mom and the one puppy that was in there. However it was $1k+ bill. I have since then taken my dog to emergency vet from being attacked by another dog and needed stitches and a drain twice- I paid between 200-300 for everything including pain killers , antibiotics, re checks. It would have cost way more at whatcom.

Have been going here for years until I adopted a cat and Dr. Borgmann told me the reason for the cat peeing constantly and not in her litterbox was behavioral. I took her to another Vet clinic to find out my cat was hyper thyroid. One simple blood test. I now go to the other clinic and now think my cat that I had to put down 4 years ago wasn't as sick as I was told if Dr. Borgmann did the necessary tests. Sad to think. I now take my dog to the other Vet clinic too and he doesn't snap or show his perarly whites...mmmmm I guess my dog was telling me something about Whatcom Rd. Vet Clinic. Plus the prices are out of this world...why should I pay $65 for an exan where I pay $25 now?

We have been clients of Dr. Elizabeth Borgmann since 2006. Simply stated and directly to the point, if the British Columbia College of Veterinarians were to have individuals by which future members entering into the profession were to be compared to, I have no hesitation in recommending that Dr. Borgmann be one of the said persons. I appreciate the weight of my above remarks, taking into account the number of members in the profession. One visit with Dr. Borgmann and I respectfully feel that you would agree with the above noted comments. Dr. Borgmann "speaks" with you she does not "talk" to you, as she cares for your special one or ones that bring you so much love and loyalty to complete our personal lives. God Bless Dr. Borgmann. Gracie & Jim

I used to go to Elizabeth Borgman until she nearly caused the death of my cat by fliply (mis)diagnosing without the aid of tests. I find their techniques to be superficial and the vet to be totally self-impressed. Her handling of my cats was callous and challenging with little to no "bedside manner". Less attention to self and surroundings and more on the love and care of the animals is highly recommended.

I am an owner of three dogs and I would like to take this opportunity to compliment the professionalism of the doctors and the staff. I have found them courteous, punctual, and extremely kind. Dr Borgman and her staff are full of integrity and honesty. I have never once had to question a procedure or test. I have had the pleasure of having every vet at this clinic treat my dogs. I have known Dr. Borgman for 7 years and during that time I have never experienced being over charged for any procedure at her clinic. I highly recommend Dr. Borgman and her staff at the Whatcom Veterinary Clinic.

My Border Collie named Lotto was hit by a pick up truck and had some serious injuries. These guys went out of there way to help us at every turn. Even taking time out of there day to call and see how he was doing. They not only were professional (with a reasonable price tag) They actually cared about what they do and you could see the love and care that they gave our poor little dog really means the world to us. These guys are genital and care about the overall well being of animals. Lotto spent a fair bit in the vets recently due to the accident and still walks in there wagging his tail. Most of the dogs in there waiting room are all wagging there tails and that says a lot! We not only take our dog here but my turtle as well. I would recommend these guys to any one! They are fantastic and truly do an amazing job! A special thanks to all of them:)

I have been going to Whatcom for over 10 years now. All of the doctors and staff have always gone above and beyond to make me comfortable while I wait and the doctors never make me feel rushed when I am asking my lists of questions. I take all of my pets to Whatcom; dogs, cat, birds, lizards and turtles. The doctors always tell me what medication would be best, what other options I have and when possible the outcome I can expect. I love going to Whatcom, so do my pets. It is very hard to find a vet to work with my rescue dog, which is afraid of people and other animals. She is lucky to have Whatcom, they know exactly how to talk to her, where to stand and how and when to touch her to make her a little more relaxed and a little less frightened.

My wife and I have been using the Whatcom Road Veterinary Hospital for approximately 7 years now. We are always impressed by the professionalism of the staff and veterinarians in the office. We had an incident recently where our dog developed Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis-a very serious and scary situation. Dr Pechey’s accurate diagnosis and excellent follow up by Dr Borgmann and the clinic staff resulted in Jenni making a full recovery after a day in hospital. Thank you all!

I LOVE this clinic. We live in Delta and there are dozens of clincs closer to home. Dr. Borgmann and her staff are amazing and when we needed to see her for an urgent follow-up, they fit us in - at the beginning of the long weekend. The "homey" feeling/decor and human coffee bar makes Whatcom Veterinary Clinic a place I want to go, and Jake loves the staff!! Whatever the issue, they sure make it easier.... thank you!!

After trying 3 other clinics, we have found THE BEST vets for us. This clinic always takes our concerns seriously. Dr. Borgmann goes out of her way to find information if she's stumped, and she is always willing to educate us as owners. The staff are kind and compassionate, and the vets are the same. We really appreciate this clinic. While the appointments can run behind, I know it's because the vets are taking their time to do their jobs right. I never mind waiting.

I drive from Vancouver to Dr. Borgman. It is worth it. The facility is great, the staff are great. The prices are standard. I always have lots of questions and they always have time to answer them. Very personable and extremely accomodating with schedules, etc. I trust this place 100%.

These people took no time in assessing my dog and moved appointments because she needed an emergency c- section. I tried other vets and they were of the mind that the puppies were already lost and so was the ****. We had the best possible results with all of the pups and their mother coming home. I would highly reccomend this clinic and the staff, class 1 doctors who consistently go above and beyond.

Great vets, not pushy, seem to be as interested in me as my pets. First class care. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I've been to other clinics where I've felt pressured into some decisions - not here though.

I've been taking my cat and dog there for about 5 years now. Appointment times may be late by up 20 minutes, but when it comes to my animals, I'll wait like I'm in a line-up for hard to get concert tickets. There are plenty of hedge rows around for a quick walk/potty break, and the set up is more homey than hospital so it's not like you're stuck sitting in a cold, sterile room. Cost-wise, well, it feels expensive and although the costs are apparently competitive, I know other vet clinics that charge less; however, given my animals have been going there for so long and the office staff will often express personal interest in their well-being, I keep going back despite the costs. I highly recommend this clinic for the love of your pets.

Dr. Macquisten is by far the best veterinarian I have had. I live in White Rock, but it is well worth the drive. He diagnosed a problem over the phone, when another vet in White Rock wanted to eutheniize my dog. He is a very caring and compassionate vet. Takes the time and is so knowledgeable. The front end staff are just as caring and compassionate, and always friendly. Excellent place to take your loved ones. Saved my dogs life!

Have taken my cats and rabbits there for a number of years and find the veterinarians knowledgeable, thorough and truly interested in the pet's welfare. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the waiting area is very comfortable - more like a living room than a waiting room. The prices are competitive and although I have had to wait occasionally, I don't mind - that means that every pet is getting the full attention it needs and deserves. I don't want to go to a place that rushes through appointments and isn't thorough. Would defintely recommend this clinic.
