Went for a scheduled appointment with the Optometrist for my cat’s corneal ulcer. Was told on phone the first appointment would be a full hour with the vet for a full exam. Vet called 15 mins after they brought my cat in from my car (Covid curb side appt). Charged $534 for a Quote for $5000 surgery and eye drops. Was told by supervisor “the $350 plus tax is for appointment if it’s a full hour or if it’s 10 mins”. Sister in law paid $350 for the Optometrist at Alta vista and they fixed/ scraped eye in the appointment. GO TO ALTA VISTA EMERGENCY Vet. The optometrist there knows what they are doing! RID: 69810
Click to report rating    6/4/20   1     1     1     1   Staff communicated very poorly. On my first day there I specifically asked for blood work to be done. Later, when I asked for it she said I "hadn't given her permission" when I most explicitly had. The same happened the next day. I was given no choices of options, no explanations or what might be going on with my cat. When bloodwork finally came back she said it was "off the chart." That is all I was told. In my distressed state I opted for euthenasia, but I wonder if I'd consulted competent vets the outcome would have been different. Drs Pelot and Bullerwell are far too young and inexperienced to be working without supervision. They especially need to develop their customer interaction skills. I was left trying to flail forward without guidance. Bullerwell had the termerity, after I suggested something to say: ""then what?" I was too upset to reply, but I should have reminded her she was the expert not me. And indeed that she should have taken repsonibility from the beginning. RID: 69286
Click to report rating    3/17/19   1     3     1     1   Personally I did not have a great experience at this place. In addition to the wrong diagnosis and inadequate care for my dog, some of the clerks, doctors and technicians were extremely rude and impatient. Also they did not transfer all the test results to our local vet as promised. I understand that this is essentially a last resort for desperate pet owners (including myself at the time), however, if you can get in touch with your local vet asap, you might save thousands of dollars, as well as your pet's life. Click to report rating    8/7/18   1     1     1     1   My experience with the animal emergency hospital & speciality went from bad to worst & $5000 & a dead dog less then 24 hours after I expressed my concerns, lack of trust, compassion, communication and ethics that had me question their credibility and credentials. We love and trust our local vet and he transferred my 3 year old yorkie Spencer to them as his clinic is not 24 hours andhe wanted internal medicine vet and a pet neurologist to exam Spencer. Dr S Saati has lack of communication, compassion and I don't think she is working for the best interest of the animals and the other night vet, it's about how much money they can get out of you and the have no issues using emotional blackmail, their lack of communication, repeat test and they don't follow or honour your requests as I signed a CPR consent in which I have the documents to prove it, the said that I signed a DNR as I changed my mind so they still never told me what was wrong with our little Spencer except it wasn't anything RID: 66608
