I work in animal welfare and behaviour and see the inside of many vet clinics, the good and the hidden. I believe it takes a lot to make for a good vet clinic - continuing education, certified support staff, animal-friendly facilities, behaviour knowledge, low-stress handling, bedside manner and transparency. To me North Shore meets a lot of those key points. I think they are slightly more pricey but I also think that, if we can, we should pay for properly trained and equipped vets. I especially liked how they paid attention to my kitten’s needs, communicated, gave me confidence and were knowledgable and up-to-date about issues. They also were very flexible when I wasn’t sure if my pet needed attention or not and cancelled an appointment last minute. I met several staff and vets and all were very gracious.

I have taken my three pets to Terri Clemett for 18 years. During that time I have had many procedures done - some were expensive but all were worth it. In one instance none of the specialists could suggest anything other than euthanasia. Dr Clemett offered to try a treatment she had no evidence for but which seemed to have helped in similar cases. She saved the life of my beautiful cat. Alternative treatments have always been clearly described and I have never felt pressured to go for tests or operations beyond my budget. I would not consider using any other vet.

A friend of mine was a breeder for 26 years and spent anywhere from $50,000. to $70,000. within 15 years that she attended this clinic. She sent me there last August 23,2016 in an emergency situation and contacted them prior to my arrival. My beautiful cat named Cleo had a kitten lodged in her uterus and the so called vet known as Shawn refused to do the emergency surgery as she informed me that she did not feel comfortable doing it.This idiot stated that she has been a vet for 30 years..dah!She attempted to refer me to the vet clinic up the street who wanted to charge me $5,000.-$6,000. to remove the fetus. Cons! Cleo and her 5 kittens stayed there for 3 hours and I was charged $400. then I was give a $1600. quote for Dr."Ice Queen"Clemett to do the surgery the following day if Cleo survived the night. She stated that they would fit her in the following morning whenever they had time because they had other appointments.Cleo died on the floor next to her kittens at home. I was not angry

We have been taking our dogs and cats to North Shore Veterinary Clinic for over 25 years. The staff are consistently caring and kind, with a wealth of knowledge and great ideas for pet care and health. The Doctors are professional and provide excellent veterinary care, all of the Doctors communicate clearly so we understand what’s going on with our pets and provide us with great care options, recommendations and treatment. Recently our dog was very ill, she was diagnosed with cancer and all of our and our pets options were clearly explained. All of the staff were professional, kind and compassionate through a very sad time and truly cared about our dog and our family. I highly recommend North Shore Veterinary Clinic, they truly love animals .

I've been a client and raving fan of this clinic and Dr. Clemett and her staff for over 10 years. I've never had anything but a great experience while bringing in my dog and 2 cats over the years. Dr. Clemett has so much passion for the animals that she deals with and has shown incredible compassion when dealing with my 2 dying cats. But please don't take my word for it; go see for yourself why I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else!

My dog was 9 months-1 year & was experiencing diarrhea & vomiting. A neighbor mentioned this place was good, unfortunately not. I found the vet to be rushed & have 0 compassion towards my dog. She said my dog was dehydrated & needed rehydrating with an IV pack, she’d also require antibiotics; the dehydration was a surprise, I saw no symptoms of this... The woman checked my dog over & said, “Her knee pops in & out ( I’ve forgotten the medical term for this)” I said, “You can’t be serious.” The vet responded, “Why are you surprised? We’ll need to do X-rays, ideally sooner rather than later.” I knew I was being lied to, I responded, “My dog has seen several vets, I find it extremely hard to believe that no one else noticed this.” The vet said it was up to me to decide what I wanted to do. The visit ended up being $250! How'd that happen? I won’t go back. I immediately found a great local vet nearby who I trust. Another note, it has been confirmed that my dogs knees are perfectly fine, duh!

We had a very bad experience here. We got shuffled around vet to vet. One was wishy/washy on important issues & did not explain clearly to us what was happening & the other, Terri Clemett was not just one of the rudest people I have ever met, she was aggressive and showed NO compassion to us at a time when we were very vunerable. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in this place and it could cost your pet their LIFE

The vet's here didn't involve us in the care of our pets in a meaningful way. It was expensive, inconsistent and lacked any sincerity. Went three times when we moved to the area. Will not be going back.

Been to this clinic a number of times. Always found staff to be short & borderline rude. Only one vet was good (Dr Mary Plinschke); she listened to my concerns and included me in the treatments. The others (Dr. Terri Clemett and Dr. Janet Maclean) did not listen or respond to what I said; instead, they abruptly and rudely provided treatment. It was very expensive; simple cytology and ointment (that has been repeatedly ineffective) cost over $100. They were inconsistent in the treatment provided and obviously just after a buck! Find a better clinic where they value your patronage!

Dr. Terri Clements is an Angel!!! There is not a more caring or inteligent Vet on this planet. The every day special treatment that our pets have received from Terri is second to none. even at the very end of our pets life Terri and her assistant Jo-Anne were there for us in Spades. Simply the best :)

Terri Clemet is a wonderful perosn, as well as a veterinarian. Unlike many veterinarians, she truly cares about the wellness and health of your pet. Dr. Clemet is very explicit in regards to possible treatment options, is very empathetic, takes the time to explain what the problem is and gives honest and well educated opinions on what plan of action she thinks is best for you and your pet. The clinic is very clean, up to date and has a warm environment for animals. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The clinic also provides many services to help and provide for stray animals, such as finding them a good home! Your pet is in good hands with Dr. Clemet!

I love this clinic! I've moved away from this city, so I can no longer use them. It was hard to find a "replacement". Dr. Terri Clements was excellent. So thorough & compassionate. Great with my pets. Very fair about treatment options. She took the time to explain the problem, state what choices are available, & give honest advice. She also did a lot of service work for neglected/homeless animals. I would not hesitate to use her!!!
