Click to report rating    5/22/22   1     1     1     1   I was VERY WRONG, thinking Dr. Wood was the best. When my 18yr old cat was in severe distress & pain : I spoke directly with Dr. Wood on the phone… he said the clinic was closing for the day & to bring her in the following day. They sent me 20km to the Langley emergency clinic they recommend. THEY would not allow me to go in with my pet!! (*April 2022) Luckily, I had noticed a vet clinic up the street. Lost my sweet girl that day, which was to be expected. But, NEITHER one of us deserved the stress prior. Dr. Wood will not go the extra mile for your pet. RID: 70337
Click to report rating    8/18/17   5     5     5     5   I would have rated this hospital bad in every respect had it not been for Dr. Hare.I have a 15 year old yorkie who was in distress on Wednesday night and I had to take her there. She was not working and I had to see Dr. Ross.It was the most unpleasant experience I have ever had with a vet.He wouldn't listen to anything I had to say and told me that he would do nothing to relieve my dogs symtoms(She had trouble breathing due to allergies) unless he xrayed her first.Because of his arrogant attitude I refused. He marched out of the office and told me that was all he could do. I had to go home with my dog having trouble breathing and I couldn't eat or sleep all night. I returned the next day when Dr. Hare was on duty and she went out of her way to look after me and my little dog.She is kind and concerned not only the welfare of your dog but also you.She is very compassionate and I only recommend this hospital if you ask to see her.She is the best vet that I have ever taken my dog to visit. Click to report rating    5/7/17   5     5     5     5   I have been taking my pooch here for a little over a year. He has always seen Dr.Wood and I have nothing but amazing things to say about him. He has always gone above and beyond for my dog and takes the time to personally explain exactly what is happening with him, reasons why and go through our options, logically, and honestly, as if it were his own dogs. Im honestly not sure who gets more excited to see the other, him or Cooper! Generally just very thankful to have a vet that clearly adores dogs! RID: 63567

11/27/14   2     4     3     1   My 17 year old cat was diagnosed here with kidney disease. They advised subcutaneous water injections, but after several treatments, she was clearly upset and unwell. Took her to another vet, who took her blood pressure and found it was over 300, as high BP is often associated with kidney disease and the subcutaneous water was boosting it uo further. Don't trust these folks, they don't care. RID: 54788
Click to report rating    5/20/14   1     3     3     1   They were ready to write my 15yr old beagle off last christmas...took him home and here it is may and he still loves his walks....misdiagnosed my cat with asthma when actually he had a malignant tumor pressing against his trachea....tried to talk to dr ross ....could not get a word in edgewise...nothing is ever their fault... RID: 51648
Click to report rating    3/12/14   5     5     5     4   Always have a good experience taking my dog here, Prices are a bit high but I feel I can completely trust the staff. Doctors give good advice and will do whats best for your pet. RID: 50454
Click to report rating    10/29/13   1     3     3     1   I called this vet to find out how much to get shots for my cat. Was told the shot would be $16 but the cost of the visit would be over $60. No other vets I've dealt with has ever charged me that much just for shots and when asked to clarify why it was so much I was told that it's a large hospital with a large staff, which is true but I still do no feel it justifies a $60 charge for a $16 shot. RID: 47956
Click to report rating    5/14/13   5     5     5     4   I called this hospital initially because my cat was crying out in pain and I did now know why.I had taken him to another vet the day before who said there was nothing wrong and so i decided to get a second opinion. They let me bring him in right away and Dr. Kennedy saw him within an hours time. It turned out to be urinary stones which are extremely painful and Dr Kennedy made sure to send us home with pain killers. Usually my cats come home from the vet terrified but this time it was different he was completely fine. The enviornment was nice and clean and all of the staff were wonderful. It was a little bit pricy but I am willing to pay extra for my cats to go somewhere where they care about the comfort of your pet as well as the amazing care they provide. RID: 42489

3/15/13   5     5     4     4   I have been seeing Dr Kennedy here for a little while and have always been impressed. The care and concern she gave my cat when he was ill was amazing. She was also great with me when my boy was diagnosed with heart failure and I was emotional. She now treats my new kitten and ha sbeen great with him as well. Kudos to the front desk staff as well - they're always sweet and helpful when I have been in. This clinic is pricey, but it is worth it. RID: 41102
Click to report rating    1/25/13   5     5     5     5   Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate the hardwork and extra mile everyone has taken to help me with my dog and any questions i have had. RID: 39930
Click to report rating    1/15/13   3     3     4     2   We took our dog here for a rash, he spent 30sec looking at her the next 20 min talking like he was on crack his name is Doc Ross , we left with the same thought "this guy is a quack" please if you go do not see this man your pet is worth more , RID: 39656
Click to report rating    2/10/12   1     3     3     1   My six month old puppy died while in for his neutering - no reason - I think he was overdosed....then, to pour salt in my wound, they sent a card in the mail a year later, reminding me that his vaccinations were due - OUCH!! I will never go back nor recommend to others. RID: 32138
Click to report rating    8/6/11   5     5     5     4   I would like to thank dr. wood and his staff for all the compassion shown when I had my 13 year-old border collie, Joey, put to sleep today. they had everything ready when we arrived and dr wood explained what was going to happen, so there weren't any surprises. the procedure was very sad but everything went smoothly. I would recommend dr wood and his staff to any of my friends and family who have pets. thank you for making a very difficult day, just a little bit better. RID: 26768
6/30/11   1     3     4     1   Beware! Looks can be VERY, VERY deceiving! They are NOT worthy of AAHA Accreditation. The techs are brutal and the staff can be snappy and rude. The only decent veterinarian there is Dr. Wood. I took my cats in for a urinary collection and a blood panel. Dr. Ross was angry that I wanted my cats to pee normally and not have needles stuck in their bladders. No $$'s for him! When trying to get a blood sample from my 15 year old semi-toothless cat I was told that it took "two techs to hold her down". They tried her neck area and both legs. She hissed and screamed at them. She is severely arthritic in her hind area. Now she is bruised and I believe her rib is cracked. I told them to call me (I live 5 min away) if there was any trouble with her but they ignored me and terrorized her. Dr. Ross' explaination of her ordeal was insulting, scary & filled with very poor excuses. It's been 24 hours and she can't walk, won;t eat and will not let me near her. GO TO HELL DR ROSS AND INCOMPETENT TECHS!! RID: 25921
Click to report rating    1/11/11   5     5     5     5   We have been going to this vet for 20 years and love them. We see Dr. Kennedy there, and she's simply the best. Always helpful. Always compassionate. Will return my calls immediately if needed. I won't go anywhere else. The staff is great too. I highly recommend Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Wood here. RID: 21961
Click to report rating    10/13/10   5     5     4     4   The staff here is so amazing that my cat purs when she gets to go to the vet! Even thought she doesnt like whats being done to her, they are very sweet and nice to her and give her treats. They always spend extra time with me and both my cat and wont hesitate to cram me in if I am having an issue. They dont roll their eyes when I come in for something silly and if my pet has to come back I only get charged for the first consoltation, the rest after for teh same set of issues are free. I think they are amazing here I highly recomend them and have been going to them for 10 plus years! RID: 20270
Click to report rating    9/18/10   5     5     5     4   Dr. Wood and his staff are amazing. I finally found a vet who goes above and beyond his call of duty. My dog was dying of liver failure and if it weren't for Dr. Wood with his compassion and expertise I wouldn't have had the strength to fight as hard as I did for my little guy. Dr. Wood pulled every resource he had in terms of nutrition, medications available, tests, etc. I could call him any time with questions and he would immediately return my calls out of his busy schedule to consults with me over the phone, sometimes for 40 minutes. At the end my beloved dog lost his fight but I felt comfortable that we had tried everything. It was a team effort. If you want a vet who forms a "real" relationship with his clients Dr. Wood and his staff are for you. I never feel pushed into unnecessary treatments. Dr. Wood knows his stuff and he has a heart of gold. I never have to wait for more then 5 minutes and the facility is as clean as a whistle. You get what you pay for and I got the best. A+ RID: 19784
Click to report rating    5/25/10   1     4     2     3   Seems expensive but I will pay alot for good and honest care. the Dr. is nice but does suggest alot of tests and teeth cleaning which is expensive. What I didn't like was the way the technicians in the back handled my pet. Apparently she had fought them the first time and they seemed to take that personally and were not compassionate or gentle. I was present for this procedure and finally had to stop it. They were actually angry with my pet. RID: 18105
Click to report rating    9/2/09   1     3     3     1   By far the worst experience I have had with a vet. If you love your pets, do not take them here! My 14 yr.old golden retriever/lab cross is so gentle and sweet and would never ever bite. But she did at this place. He was a horrible vet. Arrogant and very unprofessional.Did not care about my dog or us. With the amount of time he has been in business he did not seem to have any answers and got attitude when I asked questions. His suggestions were to euthenize my dog or spend $5000.00 dollars on a ct scan, which I would have spent the money if I had the confidence in this vet. Instead, I called the vet I used to take my dog to and he diagnosed her over the phone and he was right! The only reason I tried White Rock vet is because I moved here. I would not recommend White Rock Vet. I am now taking her back to her old vet! Well worth the longer drive! RID: 14092
Click to report rating    5/4/09   4     4     4     4   I was overall happy with the service they provided. I think their focus is to get the questions answered and then move on. No need for the sales talk, if you are educated about what you need then its a good place to go. Maybe for someone who needs more answers given and more time spent then it isn't the place for you. RID: 12689
Click to report rating    2/24/09   2     3     2     1   I used to go thre for years until one day when I needed a quote for fixing a Cherry eye in my dog. They quoted me 600 dollars. So I asked around and called Newton clinic in Surrey, and they said it should be between 180-200 dollars. Depending on the size of the dog. It turned out to be 180 including taxes.Cherry eye is a minor surgical procedure. I copied the invoice from Newton clinic and sent it to White Rock clinic with their quote and asked for explanation. They never asnwered. Even for the post op oitment they charged 5x more than the Newton clinic. Then I asked them about arranging cremation. They charge 180 dollars just for calling the company to come and pick up the euthanized animal. The company as I learned has daily rounds and charges 80 dollars for cremation. White Rock animal clinic is skining people alive. RID: 11782
Click to report rating    1/26/09   1     3     2     2   I left this vet years ago because I felt very patronized by the vet. I am an educated person, in my field, and just because I am not a vet does not mean I have the capacity to understand a complex thought. Very much had the impression that they want you in and out. RID: 11370
Click to report rating    11/25/08   2     2     3     3   hated the vet. he actually said my 12 year old cat didn't have long to live even though there was nothing wrong with him. I think he was just a jerk and thought it was funny. I've moved down the street to Southpointe Vet and am much happier RID: 10701
Click to report rating    11/22/08   2     3     1     1   Very busy and I had to wait a LONG time past my scheduled appointment. Vet seemed rushed and not very interested in trying to explain things to me. They seem to try and get people in and out as quickly as possible. Super expensive too... I don't mind spending a bit more if my pet is get great care but I didn't feel that the care my pet received was worth the extra money. I won't go back again. RID: 10673
Click to report rating    2/14/08   3     4     4     3   I was not impressed overall. I felt the service was so-so, and that they did not really care enough about my dog or me. I got the distinct impression that they would not go that extra mile. RID: 7341
