Our cat Willow, suddenly went from happy and energetic to suddenly very lethargic, vomiting with a disassociated stare.
Apex Animal Hospital made time to see him immediately, without any emergency up-charges.
Dr. Rana was incredibly compassionate and very thorough in his examination and found an obstruction in his small intestine. He made time to do the surgery within the hour and even took our boy to HIS PERSONAL HOME to monitor him over the New Years day holiday.
The next day, Dr. Rana texted us a picture of our baby and told us he would be able to come home earlier than expected. ??
What surprised us was he adjusted our final bill to reflect less hospital time. Truly,honest veterinarian
Day after surgery and our ragdoll is purring up a storm and back to his usual self. Its incredible to think we almost lost him just a few days ago.
I cant thank Dr. Rana and the staff at Apex Animal Hospital enough for their love and compassion for our Willow bear.

I have rated this clinic in the past. Mine was the first, at the bottom in 2008. Now, in 2024, I still take my dogs to see Dr Rana. I can’t say enough good things about what he has done for my dogs. Robbie has had both knees done there ( 2021/2022)and recovered well. He has gained most of his strength back in his legs. He is able to stand on both legs when sniffing in Nosework. He is 12 now. Best Vet ??

Dr. Rana and staff are without a doubt the best Vet hospital we have found in the Langley area and we looked. Our last dog Keba was given relief on our very first visit and one more year of good life from the progressing heart murmur he was suffering from because of Dr. Rana. We will be forever grateful. Other vets just wanted to test him out endlessly without relief, or euthanized. We know our new dog Puppet is in very good hands. Pricing of service is very good compared to others.

My family and I have been taking our pets to Dr.Rana for over 20 years. Amazing vet who cares for each and every animal as they are his own. Dr. Rana is THE BEST, NO QUESTION! I want to share our story in hopes it makes a difference for other families out there. Rani, our fur baby princess, got a lesion on Christmas Day. We took her to an ER vet. On the ultrasound they found a large mass 8cm in diameter attached to her spleen and a 9cm mass that appeared attached to her aorta. They told us she had 2 weeks to live. Looking at her she expressed zero signs of suffering. So we got a second, third and fourth opinion. Dr. Rana was the 4th. He reviewed her file and said 'maybe they are wrong, there are multiple ways to interpret this ultrasound'. We agreed to exploratory surgery, which revealed that in fact the second tumour was attached to the first and considered 'free floating'. They removed the tumours and spleen. They documented everything and keeping us informed every step of the way. We had a follow up ultrasound 3 months later and she was free of any tumours. THE BEST! It's now 6 months and she still behaves like a puppy!

Dr. Rana has provided excellent care to my English bulldog. He is an expert with vast knowledge of the breed. He performed a complicated surgery in my dog and had zero post operative issues and he recovered quickly. He is excellent at diagnosing and his on-site lab and X-rays make it possible for quick care. His staff are friendly, kind and very competent. I highly recommend Apex for excellent veterinary care and service.

STAY AWAY!! Short woman with black curly hair was extremely unethical. Thinking she is the owner and veterinarian, as there was no other staff. My husband and I stopped in as it was an emergency as our dog was swarmed by bees and bitten 3 times and her face, eyes, mouth and paw were swelling fast. She saw my dog as I was holding her and this woman bluntly stated, "I Don't Have Time To See Her Today" (no customers and parking lot was empty) This was an emergency and she could see my dog was having a bad allergy attack and that her face was swelling fast but didn't even have the heart to take a quick look at her. This woman turned away an animal in distress. If my dog died,I would have sued her for negligence, animal cruelty! We rushed our dog to the Langley 24 hour emergency hospital and they gave her an antihistamine and steroid,once the swelling came down around her throat, they said we could take her home, thanks to caring and loving people! I DO NOT RECOMMEND APEX ANIMAL HOSPITAL!

We were so close to losing our 12 year old Keba but thanks to you and the weekly abdomen draining and meds on Keba he is able to stay in our lives. I feel very lucky to have been introduced to this amazing clinic and Dr. Rana and awesome team by my dog trainer/personal friend Jorge (Marker Dog Training). My Akbash Sheepdog is doing very well recovering from an emergency surgery performed by Dr Rana and his assistants. In June 2020 my 12 year old large dog had a small lump...In August he went to another different Vet to have it checked out as it was growing very rapidly and was now already too large for them to remove. Another couple months went by and the tumour had grown to probably double the size. I explained to Jorge the situation and he referred us to Dr Rana who was able to see my dog promptly. After an ultrasound and a few other tests Dr Rana performed a miracle surgery and removed a 20 pound tumour from my dogs stomach muscle. Without skin grafts. My dog is recovering very well already and now has a new lease on life thanks to Dr Rana's expertise. I cant recommend Dr Rana enough. Trustable-Professional-Authentic- Saviour.

I can't say enough about the knowledge, experience and exceptional service Dr. Rana provides. I was especially impressed today when I brought my puppies in for their first set of shots and microchips. Dr. Rana had a young vet working along side him. It was awesome to see the care and exceptional guidance Dr. Rana gave to the young vet. This young vet has been working along side Dr. Rana for over 2 years and it clearly shows he has a passion for the love and care of our pets. Our 4 yr. old Bulldog was born at Apex Animal Hospital, and has lovingly been cared for by Dr. Rana ever since. He has been under anesthesia 4 times, and we have always had full confidence in DR. Rana's care of our dog. Dr. Rana has a very gentle manner and he spends time explaining and drawing the surgical procedures so it can be understood. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else, as we feel our dog is in the best place, with the best veterinary care possible.

I have been going to this vet for several years and it has been an awesome experience. I have two rescue cats(one senior) and Dr Rana and staff have been very helpful and compassionate. Dr Rana is very experienced and is always very fair and does not do unecessary things that i find some other vets do. He and his staff are always so patient and i love that he helps out local rescue animals as well. I want to thank Dr.Rana and his staff for the phenomenal honesty and treatment of our English mastiff.I came to Dr.Rana devastated at the quote we had to remove a tumor off our dog from another place this was his 3 rd tumor and our previous surgery a year before cost us $ 4700.00 and the quote we were given was not much less this time I wish I knew about this wonderful man before.He listened to me in his lobby and told me to bring my dog on a couple days later he performed surgery that day and got the tumor and I was shocked at the price he gave us less than a quarter of the previous surgery this man gave us hope that we could save our boy within an affordable price.But it was also his care I saw he truly cared and that we and our dog were not another price tag.Dr Rana you are a true blessing to this community and you will be the only vet that will be seeing to our fur family. We are a cat rescue who have used this clinic nearly a decade. We have a lot of trust in Dr Rana and are able to send cats there with no worries of being taken advantage of. He has high standards for all treatment. When animals are brought in to be euthanized due to owners not being able to pay their bills he fixes them up on his own time.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Rana & his staff. I volunteer for a rabbit rescue and Dr. Rana has gone out of his way many times to help us with sick rabbits who needed to be seen ASAP. His knowledge and compassion for these sick & injured rabbits is amazing.
He went above and beyond when we were hit with the recent outbreak of Rabbit virus. He donated his time to help vaccinate over 400 rabbits. How many vets would do that?
I wouldn’t hesitate to take any animal in to see Dr. Rana at Apex Animal Hospital.

After a devastating accident with our family dog right before the holidays, we rushed to the closest animal hospital for emergency care. Fortunately, this is where we met Dr. Rana and his amazing staff and we couldn't be happier with the service and care we received during such a difficult time for our family. Dr. Rana is by far the most genuine, compassionate and caring vets we have ever met. He is honest, skillful and as he is not motivated by money, was able to give our pet the emergency care it needed at a cost we could afford. My first good visit with Dr. Rana was when my 10 month old puppy was diagnosed with megaesophagus. I had seen 2 vets before him. Now that same puppy is 3 years old and he is doing fantastic because I know what the problem is and how to take care of it.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I picked up my 12 year old dog who had some dental work done. Dr. Rana knew that my husband was out of work, we were afraid we wouldn't be able to afford the payment.
He didn't charge us for the initial walk-in, he waived the xray fees, he charged us for less teeth then he had to remove. In the end he waived more in fee's then we ended up paying for the procedure! It is a testament to his character that he chose to do a fantastic, thorough job for the dog knowing full well that we could not pay him for everything he deserved to be paid for.
I wish I could do more for him then just writing a review. Please give him a chance as your choice for a vet. For you and your animals sake.

I first went to see Dr. Rana immediately after I was inappropriately sent home with my gravely ill puppy from my previous veterinarian. My 18 week old German Shepherd had ingested a natural calming supplement in a large quantity inadvertently and was hyperthermic, unconscious and unresponsive. Thanks to Dr. Rana searching journal articles and research, he was able to find an antidote and save his life. I will be forever grateful for the kind, genuine and expert care we received from him and his fantastic support staff. Everyone treated my dog like they were there own. I will never take any of my animals to any other vet.

Dr Rana and staff are amazing. In December our 7 yr old Doberman was diagnosed with cancer and Dr Rana got her in the next day to perform her surgery. We felt so comfortable leaving her with his staff as they were so friendly and Dr Rana's compassion for our girl gave us comfort knowing she would be in great hands. We love his clinic as he is up to date with all the latest medical innovations. Also we were so happy to learn that he has an Animal Emergency Clinic in Abbotsford which gives us peace of mind if anything were to happen to our beloved dogs after hours.

My dog got warts which began block his ear. A vet that had already charged me $800 told me to see a surgeon and expect to pay $3,500 - $4,000 to have the ear totally closed. Dr. Rana removed the warts and saved the ear for less than $1000. He followed that with 5 checkups where he cleaned the ear and did not charge anything. Dr. Rana offers excellent value for the money and demonstrates great service.

I brought my dog in after she was attacked by another dog. I thought for sure she would lose her eye but Dr.Rana was excellent! Being an animal owner my whole life and seeing huge vet bills and excellent to horrible vets throughout my life I can honestly say this place was extremely professional, helpful and didn't charge me an outrageous "emergency fee." Dr. Rana had looked after our Maltese, Tico, for many years when we lived in Langley amd we were always 100% satisfied with his professional and skilled care. We now live in Kelowna and have a Yorkie, Moxie. While visiting in the Lower Mainland recently Moxie suffered a serious eye injury; his left eye was pushed out of the socket, tearing muscles. Although it appeared to be beyond repair, Dr. Rana acted quickly and successfully, setting the eye back in the socket and administered the necessary stitches, meds and care. After 10 days under his watchful eye he came home to Kelowna. Now 3 months later he has a fully functioning and healthy left eye. There is no question, Dr. Rana is a highly skilled and caring professional. If ever there is a serious issue with our dog we will drive down to Langley to Apex . Thank you Dr. Rana!

Dr Rana was amazing with me and my 2 year old ragdoll that somehow broke his hip. Through the process he was very reassuring and calming both with me and him. I would recommend this vet. When I realized that my 9 year old Border Collie/Healer girl had a large mass in her mouth, my first thought was cancer. I contacted a friend who runs the Cocker Spaniel Rescue in BC to ask if she knew anything about oral cancer. She referred me to Dr. Rana. At our appointment I told him I suspected cancer. He agreed and told me exactly what options we had for surgery. They also would do pre-op x-rays and blood work to determine if the cancer had spread. We opted for the assessments and surgery. My dog had a full removal of her lower jaw. The cancer had been very invasive. Dr. Rana's skill as a diagnostician and surgeon saved our Meg. I don't believe that another vet could have performed the surgery as skillfully and successfully as he did. And having the ability to x-ray and do blood work on site, told us instantly that her lungs and organs were clear of cancer. Meg has completely recovered and has adjusted to licking up her mushy food. We are so grateful for Dr. Rana. Thank You!

Dr. Rana and his staff are amazing. Our little Aussie Sheppard was very ill with vomiting. We had gone to another area clinic and been sent off with pills and a reassurance that it was just a bacterial infection. a day later things were worse and we went to Apex. Dr Rana saw that pills for a vomiting dog was wrong. His quick thinking and outstanding knowledge saved our sweety and I can never thank him and his staff enough. He is excellent. He understood our needs and how precious our dog was to our lives and treated us so well while providing the very best care for our Ellie. His clinic is super clean and so professional yet understanding in our time of need. The equipment he has is top shelf and very modern allowing for a fast and helpful diagnosis. In the end our dog had a tough week getting over a case of parvo, which I don't believe she would have survived without the awesome care provided by Apex. I would recommend them to everyone. Came in for 2nd opinion with Dr. Rana recommended by friend when I called to book appointment I was told it would be with Dr.Rana. When I came in for appointment asked if it was Dr. Rana I was going to see and was told no it was other Dr. Irree. Since I was already there and had drove in from Vancouver I decided to stay for appointment. I was not very impressed with him he look forever to come into my appointment Then did unessessary tests that I never asked for. If you book appointment here please make sure it is Dr.Rana that you request to see for your appointment and even call a day ahead to make sure he is the one you will have the appointment with. I have learned from my experiance.

I had a Shepherd mix who tore his anterior cruciate. I brought him in the afternoon to have him examined. Within half an hour he was diagnosed had his x-ray done and stayed overnight (I was not charged for the overnight wait) so the surgery could be done first in the morning. Later the same dog developed liver cancer. They had all the equiptment needed to analyze blood work, run an x-ray and perform an ultrasound in one visit. I never felt pressured into doing any procedure. I had dealt with pretty much all the vets in Langley but none of them came close to Dr. Rhana. I now live in the North and often tell people that one of my greatest worries is that my dog will become seriously ill and I will have to drive 18hours to get to Dr Rhana's clinic.

Dr. Rana is the singel reason our 17 year old male cat is still alive. We took Phantom to numerous vets and they all said it was hopeless, he was old, it was cancer just wait for the end . Dr Rana performed laser surgery, removed the cancer and Phantom thinks he is a kitten. that was in 2009. After bringing Doug(ChihuahuaXJack Russell) to Dr Rana for an unrelated incident, we were told that Doug's anal issues were being mistreated. We had been treating it through medication for over 6 months with our previous vet. Dr R said he knew that Doug had anal fistulas that would most likely need to be operated on to take out. He said if left, it would eventually cause tail amputation and/or death. We knew Doug was in a lot of pain over his anal issues and were willing to do whatever it took to make him happy again. After a quick trial of intense medication, Dr R said it was best to operate, so Doug went in for the procedure. We picked him up the next day and he was already in a happier mood. His character quickly improved, as did his bum. We are incredibly happy with what Dr R did for us. Doug has seen him a few times before for blood infections, etc, and he has always helped Doug then too. If it wasn't for Dr R, we would probably still be dealing with anal issues. Thank you Dr Rana

I have been a client of Dr. Rana and his staff for the past 12 years. I have had many dogs that he has saved, extended their lives and lessend their pain. He is incredibly empathic and very determinded to find the problem and make them better. I now have 4 dogs and 3 cats. He takes excellent care of them all. Their gentle and softspoken manner, has made my animal unafraid of their "Vet" visits. I am forever Grateful to have him as my vet, He has helped my dog's through there worst, one was diagnosed with Cancer and with his Chemo Treatments I was able to have an extra 7 months with him. My other 2 dog's got into something they shouldnt and they were pretty much overdosed he Litterly took them in pumped their stomachs filled them with charcohol and staff stayed with them aND IT WAS REALLY LATE AT NIGHT.when I left my dog's there I felt at ease, it was a safe feeling, 3 day's later they came around:) They had the best help. I couldn't ever imagine going to a different VET , AND HAVE THAT WORRY, Are they going to give to much anastetic because that's what happend at another vet... Trust me people Dr. Rana want's to save your beloved pet and will do everything in his power for that to happen.I have been with him more than 10 years and Moved away However I'm still with him till this day no matter where I am. This was after another emergency clinic closer at the time had misdiagnosed Jetta $540.00 and wanted $1900.00 more to do exploratory surgery. Jetta recovered 100% in less than 3 days and Rana called back a week later to ensure he was fine. If you are new to animal care Rana is a great vet to start with and if you are not new to animal care then you know just how grateful I am that Apex Animal Hospital (Rana) is here for the long haul. Apex animal hospital is a highly sanitary and professional facility! You can smell how clean the place is upon arrival. You definetly pay a few more dollars for the cleanliness and care done at Apex. Dr Rana saved our 120lbs shepherd from dying after he had ingested a toxin from the dog park! Dr Rana is extremely informative on what is best for your pet. There are NO surprises as he will tell you the costs, benefits, and downfalls of procedures. If you've had a bad experience at Apex, please return, as you will find that it is the highest quality of care for your pet! Several other vets may be a few dollars cheaper but are highly unprofessional and fake about how they treat you and your pet. Dr Rana is by far the most educated vet in BC, i've done my research! It has taken us years to find an honest vet like Dr Rana. Other vets have ripped us off and made our dog sicker. Dr Rana physically examines our dog at every visit whereas other vets never even checked his temperature!

They misdiagnosed my cat and made my cat sicker! And had to go to another vet were it was half the money but way better care! Do not recommend them! Take you pets to the one down the street across from willowby save on foods! It will save you money and heart ache! :(

Assistant/Front desk was extremely inadequate. Didn't seem very knowledgeable when I asked her questions regarding the up selling she was pushing and reasons why it was necessary. Extremely frustrating when she didn't listen to what I WANTED done as opposed to more pointless procedures to make the visit more than triple I was quoted on the phone. They also called me three times during the surgery to try and add extras on my bill. I don't appreciate her questioning my answer as why or why not I didn't want something done. I have another vet, I came to you for a specific reason do what your told and don't push me to get more than what I came for. Such a bad experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

Dr. Rana has been treating my pets since 2002 and my family’s pets for many years before that. I have even kept him as our vet since my move from Langley to Vancouver City over 5 years ago, which means driving 45-60 minutes for treatment. But it’s worth it to us because we know that when Dr. Rana is treating our pets, they will be cared for to the fullest extent. He keeps you informed through his treatments, so you can have choices and comfort. While doing such a great job, he still somehow manages to keep things affordable. He gives your pet everything they need with his exceptional knowledge and kind heart. Dr. Rana and his team are the reason why many of our pets are alive and healthy to this day. He has even come to open his clinic for us in the middle of the night for one of our pet’s emergencies – which I think is amazing! I would highly recommend Apex Animal Hospital to anyone who wants to be treated with compassion and honesty, and who wants exceptional care for their pets.

GREAT VET! dr rana saved our cat mittens, she was hit by a car and we didnt think she would make it! till we found dr rana. he suggested a surgery and we did it! she was in great spirits when we picked her up a few days later.the price was great! we saved quite a bit of money going there compared to other vet offices we have been to! he has every thing a vet office should have. great staff all equiptment needed for ANYTHING regarding animals. they treat your family friends like there own! overall apex animal hospital is the place to go for all your animal needs! while any surgery is expensive, dr rana has saved our dog dixie twice now. this last time i have been without work and dr rana provided us with payments as i was certain i was gonna have to put our dog down. dr rana allowed us with his generosity to keep our member of our family.tremendous thanx to the staff and to dr rana

Dr Rana ordered unnecessary tests - $$$ - and then did sloppy treatments. He had his receptionist do a treatment. I had to return to the vet the next day. IN the end, the doctor got richer, my dog got sicker. I left, and found an amazing Doctor.

We got 2 kittens from an animal rescue person. They began developing problems within the week we got them (pneumonia, eye infections, viral infections, etc.). Dr. Rana took the time and the energy to explain their problems and come up with medical solutions. Henry and Reilly are now on the path to total recovery with Dr. Rana's help. Thank you for your help with our new members of our family.

I am grateful I found this wonderful vet, whose judgement I can completely trust. He is the best in the field: most experienced and intelligent vet, and also a fine person with a kind heart. Dr. Rana makes sure that we understand what's going on, and he takes time to explain with such earnest and patience. His way of care is so thoughtful and practical. You can trust he will find and choose the best way to deal with the issue, and no single unnecessary procedure will be done to you pet. I think it's an amazing combination of qualities we can ever ask for a doctor: technical and intellectual expertise & kindness and conscientiousness. We have been with Dr. Rana for 16 years and highly recommend him to everyone! Our rotweiller needed knee replacement surgery and Dr. Rana allowed us to make payments, saving our beloved dog from euthanasia. We are now with him for two new dogs as our two boys sadly passed on from old age. Dr. Rana even met us at his clinic on Thanksgiving Day when a "foster" dog of ours was suffering and was very kind to all of us as we had to say our goodbyes. He does not push procedures on us, he gives us our options, his recommendations, and patiently explains everything to us. I LOVE THIS VET! I brought in my rescue puppy and I had no money... the dog was very very sick and he didn't even make me pay for it that day... he tried his best to help my little girl but she died right before operation. Dr. Rana cut her open just to see what was wrong... Her stomach was in her chest cavity. Obviously the previous owner liked to kick... But Dr. Rana is amazing

This vet is outstanding. He has saved the lives of many of our rescued dogs. He is very conscientious and supervises all his staff especially new ones. He has filled our dog's Rxs unless a trained staff member is there and they do it. He is frequently getting upgraded in areas such as Cardiac illnesses and orthopaedic surgeries and the like. I would recommend him to anyone.His post graduate training at Purdue University puts him above and beyond many out there, in my opinion.

Dr Rana oozes comassion for the animals.He has saved the life of one of my dogs and he is always in because he's a bit of a workaholic. ;-) If I don't understand something, he will bring out the textbook to help explain things to me. I really like that. His fees are not too high at all.
