This was once the best veterinary clinic I have been too. The front staff was friendly, interactive and knowledgeable, but that has changed. The real reason I loved this office was Dr. de Winter, by far the best vet I have ever seen. She was honest, sincere and did not money gouge her clients. Miss her dearly. Think it’s time to source out a better vet office. Plus the most recent vet I saw charged me ridiculous prices for nothing.

Excellent clinic. Highly recommended. Fair prices. They were honest, compassionate and helped guide me through a very difficult decision with my dog Charly. Special thanks to Dr. De Winter and Dr. Cannon.

Extremely expensive and extravagant practice, they try to upsell you on every item possible. Extraneous fees are charged on top of already expensive vet care wherever possible. The vet for our first ever visit was impatient and rude, often cutting us off and had a "This is what you will get for your animal, otherwise you're a bad person." attitude. Communication between front end staff (who are receptionists, not techs/vets) and techs/vets is terrible. One end would change appointments without updating their counterparts, medical records weren't updated, personal information is entered into the wrong files - meaning they pull up somebody else's pet and home info when you give them your phone # and name (this alone is a grievous privacy concern). When you phone with a question you get put on hold by multiple people until you get someone who knows what they are talking about. After getting fed up, we found a vet that cared about animal health - not making money and looking good.

Staff was not very friendly, the vet we saw was rude. They upsell a lot. Won’t return, found a new vet and they are amazing.

Everyone that works at this clinic that i have had contact with have been nothing short of fantastic. Dr. Cannon especially, without him my dog wouldnt have made it theough this past summer. I owe you all the most sincerest thank you.

Professional, knowledgeable and compassionate - the three most important things in a Vet clinic. Dr. Renooy is open to exploring treatment alternatives, and willing to listen to the pet owner. I'm so very glad I found this clinic - and my dogs are treated well when they are here.

Great service. Great staff. Reasonable prices in comparison to other clinics. Staff always responds quickly and professionally and doctors are knowledgable and kind. Facility is spotless also.

We've been using this practice, specifically Dr. Renooi, for our dogs for the past 10 years, and he's the best vet we've ever known. All his staff are such helpful and caring people. No better place to be when coping with a sick family member.

i brought my cat here once just to get a check up and it costed me almost 100$ just for then to heard his heart rate, check his temp and look at his eyes and stuff and then after the check up the vet wanted me to get blood work done on him because she thought his heart rate was calm for being at the vet so she thought he could have feline aids so i got the blood work done and that costed me another 95$ just to find out he dosent have anything and he just wasnt scared of the vet office...who ever says that all the vets have the same prices in the valley are very wrong ive literately been to all the vets in the valley and all there prices are different what youre manly paying for at van isle is the flash which isnt how a vets office should be...

dealt with this clinic prior to the new location though Dr. Bruce tried and refused to listen to what we were telling him about are cat he was insistant there was nothing wrong discontinue all meds she had been on and when we finally found a vet who was going to try and help out cat it was proven she has very severe medical condition and never should have been taken on those meds. We had surgery done by another vet and our cat lived 7 years long. Secondly they do not allow you to go with your pets for treatments you wait in the waiting room. Pets needs owners with them for reassurance. Save your money and go to get referrences from friends just remember this is a business and only in for profit.

I started going to this vet in 2007 after we moved here from Alberta. I have alot of time in vet clinics over the years with my lab. This vet clinic, is by far the cleanest clinic I have been to. The fees are fees, expect them if you have pets, and care for them. The fees are a bit more in BC altogether, but the fees are the same around the valley. I truly love the doctors here at Van Isle, especailly Dr De Winter. She is honest, caring, and truthful, even if the truth is not the news you want to hear. She takes her time with you, and does not make you feel like the clock is ticking. I always was able to ask my questions, and appreciated all of the answers. Considering I would do anything for my dog, she knew when it was time to let him go, with his dignity. Anyone is lucky to have her as their vet. I recommend her to all my friends. After our hearts heal, I will contact her when we are ready to have another furry child.

I have MANY pets, and often rescue small animals and barnyard babies that need a hand up. The front staff is happy to answer my many phone calls for information on what ever new critter I have taken on. I also breed dogs which is very time sensitive, both with the initial breedings (AI) and the c-sections to deliver my new babies. On every occation the team has done what ever it takes to make my dreams come true. The after care, phone calls to make sure everything is going well, and thorough discussion between the staff of any unusual cases makes me sure I'm getting the best treatment for my pets. I am very, very happy to take my pets for the best technology, knowledgable, friendly, caring staff in a beautiful, inviting atmosphere. I have recommended Van Isle Vets on many occasions and those friends have had successful outcomes to some tricky problems. Thank-you to Monica, Dr. De Winter, Dr. Renooy, Dr. Canon, all the amazing techs. and the great receptionists.

Dr. Renooy has been wonderful with all of my pets, but especially my little cat. He has correctly diagnosed some difficutl illnesses (when other vets had no idea). The equipment in the new building is wonderful - great to be able to complete diagnostics within hours. They are resonably priced and have always gone above and beyond.

The front staff did not seem to know what they were talking about when I asked questions about my dog. Went to another clinic. It was much smaller but the staff really cared and knew so much more.

The main reason I attend this clinic is because of DR. De Winter. She's caring and very understanding of the pet/owner bond. She communicates very well and has the best interest of your pet in mind at all times. She's not intimidated by the tough cases and works as a team player with other Dr.'s and specialists. A very good doctor with a very good heart. Dr. Meecher is also a very caring and skilled doctor, who is genuinely interested in your pets health and well being. I'm not confident in the capabilities and caring factor of the other Dr.'s there. My experience is they aren't interested or maybe capable of problem solving the tough cases. They do however have rather large egos.

Dr Cannon was very caring, and very professional. He always takes the time to answer ALL my questions and is very thorough in his assessment and treatments. He has treated our family animals on many occasions and we have never been disappointed with his level of care. Prices reasonable, facility clean, and the front staff is just so amazing, they really do care.

The staff goes beyond the call of duty in all animal care. I take both my cats and dog there. My dog Klondike had a severe medical problem last year - when I was ready to give up on him, they didn't and he survived and except for a limp is a happy, healthy dog.

Thank you Dr. Bruce Renooy for taking the time to answer my questions, and taking care of our dog without rushing us out of there. Very caring, and knowledgeable. I will defiantly recommend my friends to him. Very nice assistants too.

I travel from Alberta on holidays to see Dr.Bruce Renooy He is kind and caring to my small dogs. He has always been upfront with me on my dogs care and I trust him ore so than any other vet I have ever dealt with.

Dr. Cannon was wonderful, called me right away on the weekend. My dog had a very puzzling problem, he was careful, lovely and gentle with my dog. He explained everything including the uncertainty of diagnosing this sort of problem. I was referred to a neurologist in Vancouver and felt very comfortable this was the correct decision in this case. I will follow up with Dr. Cannon or any of the vets at Van Isle for this problem or any other. P.L.L

While I still go there for the dog and cat, I think they're too BIG now...beautiful clinic but they seem EXPEN$IVE! Staff is OK..but I've seen better. Dr. Renooy is the ONLY reason I've stayed there...he's the BEST.

Very caring. Very accessible. Very expensive. We've seen four different vets and all have been very attentive, have answered all our questions and genuinely shown concern for our dog. I would recommend Van Isle to anyone who isn't on a budget.

I have been going to Van Isle for only two years now, and found them on all occasions (and there have been many) to be extremely professional and courteous. My girls have been treated from minor problems to major surgeries with the removal of carpet from the stomach to a ruptured cruciate and not once was there any mis-diagnosis. I have been seen by every vet in the practise and treated with the utmost repsect and courtesy from everyone at Van Isle. I can highly recommend anyone to has to take their animal there.

Was not happy with my visit to this Vet. Dr Bruce is charming but my pet did not receive very good care . I have a hard time with the extravagant building and high costs. I would rather have better care for my pet and less show.

I love dealing with team from Van Isle.I have two animals, one of which is diabetic, and they got him stablized quickly. I appreciate their efforts in dealing with my difficult cat as well, as he is VERY strong and grumpy. I would recommend them to everyone. No vet is perfect, just like a human doctor, but they always admit when they are not sure, they treat the animals with love and respect, and give you the best info possible. I have used one other vet in the valley and didn't go back after visting VanIsle! Check out their monthly specials!

For years I highly recommended all the vets at Van Isle. More recently Bruce (the owner) has mis-diagnosed my dog and been seemingly confused about my guy's history. New digs are gorgeous--but what I care about is the CARE of my animals. BEWARE THESE DAYS!

By far the best vet clinic in the Comox Valley! Their new building isn't up yet, but it looks amazing (and huge!) I had Dr. Renooy and I highly recommend him. The receptionist area staff were so nice and they gave my dog free treats!

I have had wonderful service. There are currently five vets on staff. They are expanding to a larger clinic. Fees basically the same as other local vet clinics. I do receive some discounts. Hours are 8 till 8 Mon. to Fri. and 8 till 4 Sat. 24 hour emergency. I wouldn't hesitate recommending them.
