I called to see if my cat could get looked at, because of some hair matting at the base of her tail and in pain. That day I was fit in. Cat is happier than ever and staff here and Dr is absolutely a blessing in this town.

My cat,Teo,recently had an $7,000 total ear canal ablation surgery in Vancouver. Her inner ear was removed and ear canal permanently closed up. Teo needed surgery because she had a ruptured ear drum that wouldn't heal. It was ruptured during a routine ear cleaning by Dr. Ruth Simms. Teo started out with a mild ear infection. Now she is permanently deaf in one ear. Dont ever agree to flushing a cats ears because it is dangerous practice, especially in the hands of an uncaring vet who is in a hurry. When I got Teo back home from Kettle River, I noticed that her eye had Horner's Syndrome, from the inner ear nerve that connects to the eye being inflamed and causing some facial paralysis. Teo's face looked like she had a stroke. The vet had failed to notice this, (or chose to ignore it) and when I called the next day to inform her, she was defensive. She accused me of "Google woogling it" , snarkingly saying " Ooooh, I guess you think you are an expert now". Where is the EMPATHY, Dr.Simms?

We brought our two cats today to get their regular vaccines. We were extremely happy with how the staff and the vet doc took care of our animals. Any questions we had they answered to the best of there knowledge. Excellent buisness!

Dr. Ruth is amazing. She has helped my horses so much. Her 'bedside manner' is incredible. She definitely is working to help the animals be the best they can be. I cannot say enough good about her. She is a rare vet in this world we live in today.

Dr. Ruth was amazing! We were visiting from out of town and our dog required emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage. She gave up 12 hours+ of her weekend to help us and was wonderful. Her emergency rates I'm sure were less than I would have paid on a weekday at home. I'm sure she saved our dog's life and we are so grateful. Grand Forks is lucky to have her.

Dr. Ruth Sims is an amazing veterinarian who loves working for the animals. She always has time to answer any questions you may have and genuinely cares about all of her patients, both human and animal. She is a vet for the love of the animals, not for the money. I drive an hour and a half to visit her when needed and recommend her services to anyone in need of a great vet. Thank you Dr. Sims

We had our HEART Rescue puppy spayed at this clinic - they were very caring and answered all our many questions. Would not hesitate to use them again. Dr. Sims gives rescue puppies from HEART a better rate on spaying/neutering - very thankful for her generosity!

Dr. Simms is excellent to deal with, knowledgeable and has very reasonable rates. We've used her for our horses, dog and cat. Very thankful to have her here in Grand Forks!!!!

Dr. Ruth Sims works with me, a breeder, to make sure my breeding dogs have been thoroughly tested before breeding. She offers a reasonable rate for her services and she has looked into health issues of pup that have gone to different homes to help me know if I am breeding a genetically healthy pup. She is also concerned and always asks if my puppies are presold when they go to her for their first shots and checkups. I travel over 4 hours to use this vet clinic as I have not found a vet in my area that has been willing to work with me at a reasonable rate. When Ruth Sims checks on my adult dogs, her input is always useful and she never tries to find extra reasons to make more money. If she tells me my dogs need something done, it is because that is a fact and not a way to make more money.
