I've had far better experiences in every single category from 3 other local vets from rothesay and hampton. They arent the cheapest, the friendliest, the most compassionate or the most competent.

Have been going to this clinic for years. Always have been eccellent and caring with our pets.Recently had to say goodbye to our Cat, Charlie. Dr. Downey and staff were so kind and gave us all the time we needed to say our good - byes. The following week we even received a sympathy card from Dr. Downey. Great Clinic.

Took cat for vacs & blood work, even paid extra for preliminary tests. Picked up cat, wasn't given health certificate, tags, blood results, nothing. Asked about his medication, another vet said "Oh, his pill! don't take him yet!"-They never give it to him. Two weeks later still no word on preliminaries, called & was told to pick up a health certificate. Arrive 4hrs later, nothing is ready for me, snotty young woman up front says vet I spoke to on the phone didn't know what she was talking about, insisted she couldn't give me any info on my cat, refused me blood work results condescendingly stating 'I wouldn't know how to read them anyway', holding one up & asking "do you understand this? I know you don't". Was combative instead of helpful, had to have superior take over. Other vet apologized for the inconvenience then had the nerve to call me rude for 'arguing with the staff'! Unbelievable! Incompetent staff, horrible service, greedy, & RUDE! Going to Fairvale in Rothesay from NOW ON!

I have been going to Loch Lomond vet hospital for many years for horses and all of my cats. Very clean hospital with very knowledgeable staff. Not to mention they are all very gorgeous people. They have been nothing but gentle and very compassionate with my animals as well as with me. I have heard of other clients having minor issues with staff but upon further conversation found it to actually be the clients fault that a bad experience was had that day, and on multiple occasions have seen staff handle clients that had a less than cherub-like demeanor in a very respectful and calm manor when had it been me behind the desk there would have been a major altercation. I will continue to take my animals here in the future and will continue to enjoy the professionalism and compassion of the staff, both the girls that work out front as well the veterinarians.

Before getting my puppy I contacted several clinics in the city for pricing on various procedures to compare and in combination with its location to my home the Loch Lomond clinic was by far the best. I don't feel the need to pay extra to see a pretty building or cozy waiting area. My dog is extremely fearful of anything new,large,moving...well you get the idea and even once snapped at the vet and he was still gentle in his treatment of my dog and us as well.I have been going there for more then four years nows and hope to continue to go for many more!

I have been to 3 other vet clinic in the area, and while this clinic isn't the newest building, you can tell they are about the animals and not about the $. Our dog had been in to 2 clinics for ear issues, and we were charged so much each time. This clinic said that it would be an ongoing problem, but gave us solutions that costed way less that the other clinic didn't even offer (they would rather us have to go in each time and pay) It's been over 6 months and the treatments are still working great, and have saved us $. I read all the comments on here before giving it a try, and I agree with one poster, it looks like a disgruntled employee posting…The staff were so caring an friendly to deal with.Yeah the building is older, but look at other places with nice new buildings, and then compare bills….the customer is paying for that nice flashy building! Definitely recommend!

Took a foster dog in for shots. Said a muzzle may be necessary for the shots as the dog was a bit fearful being handled by new people and in new places. Concerns were ignored and it did not go well. Felt like it was our fault even though we voiced our concerns and said we wanted a muzzle just in case. To the vet's credit she came back in and carried on, but the fact our concerns were pooh-poohed was disturbing. Also very difficult to get vet records to take to another facility.

A few months back I took my cat 2 the vet.He had an allergy problem. The Dr.told me that they use a steroid shot 4 allergies.Well,it worked! However,it didn't last & in a few weeks he was itching again.I noticed weight loss.I wasn't 2 concerned because he was a bigger cat & I had recently changed his food 2 a healthier kind. She told me 2 keep an eye on it & she shot him up with another dose.He continued 2 lose weight. The Vet didn't seemed concerned but I was getting 2 be.I began Googling the side effects of allergy shots.I found out a lot of things that the Vet should have told me.Some become diabetic after the injection.Repeated use of steroids in cats can put them at more risk of becoming diabetic. Now my cat is diabetic. The Vet informed me of the 100s & 100s of dollars it would cost 2 keep him alive.I don`t have the money. My son, who`s autistic,& I have had our cat 4 11 years. We r devastated as we watch him grow sicker. This could`ve been prevented. Our cat is dying because of them

I've been bringing my dog there for 4 years. Never had any issues, just got a new puppy and will be bringing her there also. Always friendly, and reasonably priced. pets cost money.. You should know that and be prepared for that, when considering a pet. I would strongly recommend this clinic.

A very nice group of people who obviously care a lot about what they do. I asked about their building, apparently they rent and are investing in a new one soon. My dog is very enthusiastic about going - something he wasnt at his former vet. Would definately reccommend them!

My sister had been taking her pet to this hospital and is still recovering from the death of the pet, whom she now feels might still be alive if she had taken him for a second opinion. No compassion shown, just the bill. She would absolutely not recommend this clinic to anybody.

I have nothing but good things to say about Loch Lomond Veterinary Hospital. We took in an unwanted dog and the previous owner had been coming to this vet, so we gave them a try. Since then, we have used them for both of our cats. Their fees are reasonable, there is never a wait to get an appointment and the staff members are very nice. Our favourite is Dr. Bourgeois; she takes time to explain her findings and we usually leave feeling like we've had a bit of an education. In fact, she told us to go to the Bulk barn to pick up a supplement for our cat, rather than paying the high vet prices! I cannot comment on the "backstage" areas, but I find it hard to believe they are as bad as some of the other comments have mentioned. The three rooms I have personally been in were all clean and in good repair.

Poor level of care and compassion from staff with an even lower level of hygiene. Would not recommend this veterinary hospital.

I just love these on line rating sites. A great place for former employees to exact a little revenge, and for some owners to pump up their stats. All anonymously. If you have a problem with your Vet, just tell them. Guess what, they want you to be happy. Happy customers come back. I know, I own garage. Writing hatefull reviews is just sad. I was treated fairly on my last visit, and more importantly they took great care of my mutt.

cares more about the money then animals , i was hung up on and was treated in a very unprofessional manner , as an advocate of animal rescues (which i regularly do , i WONT be bringing any more pets there. HORRIBLY rude staff, treatments that do no work just so that you have to return for more.

One vet at this practice is not very friendly and always seems rushed to get through the appointment. The younger vet is very nice & friendly, although very new
