This vet is the absolute worst experience I've had. The first time we went, the room they put us in was an uncleaned operation room. There was cat hair and garbage all over the room, and blood still hanging from an IV bag. Vet saw us for all of two seconds and we proceeded with treatment. They provided medicine, and as I was getting into my car, I noticed the medicine package had been tampered with and there was some missing (very unprofessional). After two bottles of this medicine, my poor dogs ear infection was still not fixed. This second and very last visit was even worse than the first. The vet accused me of not administering the medicine properly and got extremely defensive when I suggested that we need to try a different medicine because this one did not work. He refused to give me a different medicine and kicked me and my poor dog out of the vet. This experience was terrible, and nobody should have to endure the complete stupidity of this vet (if he can even call himself one).

Glebe Pet Hospital made my sick dog even sicker by selling us dog food that was 2 years out of date.
The Glebe Pet Hospital sold me food for my dog with kidney problems. My already sick dog was then very sick for 3 weeks. She lost 2kg and, because of her pre-existing condition, we thought she was dying before we realized it was caused by the food. During that time, we incurred $270 in vet fees at another practice.
Glebe Pet Hospital refunded us for the food, but only agreed to compensate us for vet fees after a they received a report stating the cause of illness from our other vet — and only if we would sign a document agreeing "to not slander the business - on any online forum or through word of mouth and also to not perform any action that could be considered harassment of any kind towards the staff members of this facility”. We also never got an apology from the practice vet who handled the situation.
We decided to share our experience so others aren’t affected. Avoid them!

We have special needs dogs. Glebe is our preferred clinic, because Dr. Fattah and Dr. Abelhady really understand them. Even our anxious-aggressive female sits quietly to be examined and vaccinated. They take the time to be sure I understand, too, what they are doing and why, and treat me as an adult, thinking human being. A lot of people seem to forget that this is about their animals, not them, and that there is no OHIP for pets. Rent, utilities, wholesalers and staff have to be paid. If you want to pay nothing and be catered to, go somewhere else. But if you want a good vet for your dog, these are the guys.

Glebe pet hospital was highly recommended to me by many friends. Took my dog there for annual exam and blood work saw Dr. Abdelhady he did a thorough exam on my dog and answered all of my questions i didn't feel that I was rushed out , was impressed by their modest bill and genuine care. You can tell they really care about your pet and don't push unnecessary vaccines or products on you. .the front staff was good as well.

Wow what a filthy dump!! Had Dr Abdelhady and someone named Elisa, they came in, didn't introduce themselves, never really conversed with me, they were like two robots, certainly didn't seem to be very interested in my dogs. After Dr Abdelhady checked my dogs teeth he didn't wash his hands before talking blood or even after. That Elisa girl was absolutely stoic. When they were finished they didn't say goodbye just walked out. Left me dumbfounded sitting on that filthy chair wondering what the heck just happened. My next surprise was the invoice, they used to be affordable. Then recommended dog food @ $115.00! I will never ever go back to that place, not even to pick up my tick medicine.

I used to go to this clinic with my other 2 cats 20 years ago. At that time the staff were great. I recently switched because I hardly saw Dr. Fattah anymore, and when I saw him he seemed distracted; a few times I had to ask him for the results of a test as he would leave me and my cat in the examination room and not come back. More than once, I would ask the women at the front desk what was going on and they would go get him. Once I was expecting a call from them with my cat's test results...its a good thing I had call display as they called my number; but, didn't leave a message. I checked my log and saw that they called. When I called back I was told she didn't think I had a voice mail and the young woman said she thought that I would "figure out" that she had called! I ran into a woman who used to work there and I told her I was thinking of switching to another vet. She didn't ask why...instead she recommended the current vet I am with now.

We have been going to the GlebePet Hospital with our first dog since 2001(for the past 14 years). Initially we also saw Dr Fattah and were very happy with his service.
We have not had Dr Fattah for several years now (at least the last 7-10 years) and it has been a steady rotating stream of different vets.
I was really surprised when I went for a visit to the Glebe Pet Hospital this past February 2016 - the premises were filthy (way more than just dirty winter boots) and the whole place smelled so badly. The exam room was bare, filthy and smelled even worse. The staff were tired, unfriendly and didn`t appear to care too much.
It is really too bad as when we first start going in 2001 - this was not what the Glebe Pet Hospital was like. It has steadily deteriorated to the point it was so dirty that we will not be going back :(.

Dr. Levesque - I knew I could rely on her as soon as she touched Priya. My kitten doesn't liked to be approached, let alone touched, so when Priya allowed Dr. Levesque to pet her, I knew she was going to be our vet for life.
Priya was scheduled for two procedures today, however there was a little mix up. The staff did try to contact me, but I didn't pick up the message in time. The staff at the front desk were kind, polite and apologized for the mistake. They did everything possible to help us out, even offered a price reduction for the inconvenience. We decided to get at least one procedure done today; however, Dr. Levesque soon called and offered to perform both procedures. I really appreciated this personal touch and Dr. Levesque's concern for Priya's well-being.
Go see Dr. Levesque - she is professional, kind and considerate.

I used to love this clinic, but have recently decided to change due to overcharging without informing me of the cost beforehand, misdiagnosis leading to complications and dirty facilities. My cat was sick and was whisked off for treatment before any discussion with me as to what was wrong and the costs involved. Ended up with a week long hospital stay. Broken dew claw on a large dog was misdiagnosed and led to 5 days of needless suffering. Too bad, they used to be great.

I've been going there for years and I have always been happy with them. They don't overcharge and they are no nonsense kind of vet. I always feel that they care for my cats.

I have nothing but praise for the doctors and staff here. I work with rescue animals, often sick, abused and terrified. There is no time to futz around: I need to know what the problem is, what the options are and what the potential outcomes are. This is exactly the straightforward information I get. The doctors and staff care very much about the animals, and they have gone well beyond the call of duty for some of our sick and injured. If we need more than the clinic has to offer, they are the first to suggest a specialist. It is unfortunate that some humans think they are the star, not their sick animal, and want to be catered to. In my experience, if the vet makes a suggestion, there is a good reason, and if I don't understand, he is more than willing to explain. So, ask.

I'm certain positive comments made in this column are from Mr. Fattah himself. My cat's problems stemmed from food (high fibre) that was bought there. Ultimately, my cat died from a tumor that went unchecked over many visits. I will never forget the cold Doctor chastising his trainee (whom I recognized from Mac's Milk down the road) for not giving us a DEAL.

I try to avoid Dr. Fattah as much as possible. He doesn't seem to like his job at all! For my dog's annual checkup and vaccination, I went in a came out less than 5 minutes and I paid $60 for check up and $34 for vaccination. BUT he barely did a check up for my dog!!! he almost forgot to weight my dog, I had to remind him twice! All he did was to administer the shots and check his ears and teeth. Unlike other vets, who would at least check the joints and the overall physique of my dog. He did not do any of that!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I got a rescue cat that was in rough shape, I brought her there. The young female vet would say "Im just gonna test for this now" and do it immediately without giving me the opportunity to ask what it was for, or how much it cost. My cat had earmites as well, so she gave her ear mites treatment. She didnt give me any medication for the ear mites to bring home, she just gave them to her onsite, which anyone who has had an animal with earmits knows 1 treatment doesnt cut it. The kitten also had this soar on her chin that the girl wanted to shave off, so she took this ancient enormous electric razor and scared the living crap out of the kitten and ended up cutting her whiskers by accident, I told her is this really necessary? or will it go away, she said, oh with time it will go away, I said then stop... your terrorizing her..just terrible experience. Never returned. Never will.

Someone suggested Glebe Pet Hospital to me after having bad luck with other pet hospitals. Glebe is not out to rip you off like so many other vets are. Both times that I had a seriously ill cat the vet phoned me at home to check in. The staff are genuine and the prices are decent. I have several vets close to my home but I'd rather go across town to see the folks at GPH.

Our dog has not been the same since going to this vet. They were meant to clean his anal glands and took the liberty to extract 11 teeth while he was sedated without our permission. The bill was ridiculous, staff unhelpful and service terrible. We tried to talk to them about it but didn't have any luck. Hard to trust them but I wouldn't go back. The more people we have spoken to, the more similar situations we have heard of.

STAY AWAY! They misdiagnosed my dog with heart diseas when he actually had cancer. We switched to a new vet and learned all of what this place does wrong: misdiagnosing cancer that appeared in an xray that when my new vet showed the xray to me, I could see it. Failed to inform me of my other dog's kidney diseas until she ended iup in acute kdiney failure. Prescribed antibiotics without testing to see what strain of bacteria my dog had which would then dictate which antibiotic she should be on. The list goes on of extremely poor practices, which led me to leave this clinic. If you love your pets, stay away!!!!

I have never had a bad experience at this place. The staff and especially Doctor Fattah have always treated me with respect and a warm smile. My dogs and my cats have always been handled with expert care and training. The information that they give me has always been key in helping ME make the decisions necessary in keeping my companions healthy. All of my questions have always been answered. Keep up the great work

I'm sure the people who work here are very nice but they should be holding themselves to a hire standard. My first impression was that the Clinic was dingy and dirty, smelling of dirty cat litter. During the procedures I was unclear as to which staff was the vet, she did not introduce herself and was not present during the entire procedure. Bloodied gauze was left on the floor, and to my horror the attendant placed an open needle on the floor before using it on my pet. In general my impression of all attendants, including vet is that they lack experience.

Dr. Fattah and his clinic's staff have always treated me and my pets with respect and courtesy. I appreciate his no-nonsense manner and honesty. I have seen some of his clients take advantage of him and his time, and I really regret that. He is a kind and generous vet and people who think otherwise need to go elsewhere and stop wasting his time and resources. Please leave him to help the people and their pets who deserve it!

Worst vet ever. I took a stray cat to him for treatment, and he said to bring a stool sample for running a worms test. The test came back negative, but they still told me I had to buy dewormer because 1 in 9 results is a false negative. I was late for work to bring in that stool sample, for nothing! I had to buy the dewormer anyway! Then he tried to sell me special food, which I declined, so he "gave" me a can to take with me. I checked after, and it was added to my bill! And I took my 2 other cats for a check-up, and the vet asked ME what he should check. Um, he's the vet, shouldn't he KNOW what is involved in a check-up? I suggested he check their glands, and it turned out they both had clogged anal glands! But he wouldn't've checked if I hadn't asked! And 1 of my cats has bad teeth, so I scheduled a cleaning, but the vet said he didn't need a cleaning. Next time I went for an appt, my cat needed 2 teeth pulled. All because the vet didn't bother cleaning my cat's teeth when I asked.

Dr. Fattah really doesn't care about my animals. He is cold. He does not provide good information about conditions and treatment. His prices are low, but service is too. He has made mistakes with my animals that I had to correct. Not impressed with him at all.

We recently moved to Ottawa. Brought our guinea pig there for a routine textbook filing which our old vet used to do successfully every time. Without this filing our pet can eat and survive another year. Within 4 days our pet was dead. The vet claimed pre-existing condition without any supporting documentation and he would refund nothing. These guys are incompentent, rip-off quacks: they can't perform a basic life saving procedure, they will do "something" anyway knowing your pet will die, and keep the money. If you love your pet, do not take it to this clinic.

Have been bringing my dog and cat here for nearly 10 years, though not sure what is wrong with them now. The clinic used to be great, now keeps trying to push for unneccessary costly tests for my pets - and each time I've buckled and opened my wallet - nothing has been wrong. Doesn't even take time to explain the test results that I spent $300 on. Too quick to suggest worst case scenario without exploring options. Made me feel bad about not feeding my dog their brand of food - they actually said "why won't you spend the extra couple dollars on your dog" ... The food I feed my dog is grain free hollistic and is MORE expensive than what they sell. I wont buy their food because I don't like giving my dog chemicals. They made me feel like I'm neglectful. It's too bad because I used to really love going there, they have been great at last minute "emergency" type appointments but am seriously considering other options.
