I started bringing my Senior Lab that I adopted last fall to this clinic in March. The staff and Dr. Torabi are great. They treat my girl very gently and seem truly interested in her health. Appointments are never rushed and Dr. Torabi answers all my questions. Vet care is never cheap (Thanks to the cost of medication) but their prices are lower than my previous vet and they never push me for extras that I don't want. I really like this small clinic with just one vet in comparison to the large corporate practices where you see a different vet each visit. Even though they provide a lot of cat services they definitely are welcoming and up to the task to care for dogs of all sizes. Overall I am very happy and I will continue to put my precious dog's care in their skilled and compassionate hands.

We have gone to this clinic for many years and like many, we were sad when Dr Murray retired. We have had our two cats in to see Dr Torabi and he has always been compassionate with our pets and good at explaining things to my husband and I. We recently rescued a third very senior cat with major health issues and he has been kind and helpful with diagnosing this cats issues. I find the staff and Dr Torabi personable and knowledgeable and appreciate that when blood tests or treatments are required these are done in our presence. Also when this cat had to be hospitalized they welcomed us at anytime to check on him.

We started bringing our three cats to Dr. Murray, who was kind to them and had kept his prices low. We kept going to BHVC when Dr. Tarobi(?) took over and all was well for a while, although the prices immediately increased. Our beloved eldest cat was diagnosed with pancreatitis and lost some weight. We took him in for a regular check up and the vet decided he needed a urine sample. After 2 unsuccessful needle biopsies, he decided to catheterize our boy -- without anesthetic! Needless to say, this was painful for the cat. Nearly a month later, our poor baby is still suffering -- peeing blood, suffering incontinence. This past weekend, we took him to the emergency vet. Another $400 (and a full day's wait) later, at least our wee boy has pain meds -- something BVHC never even suggested! We will NOT be returning!

So sad Dr Murray retired I have been seeing him for 20 years and always felt comfortable bringing any of my pets to his office. Just recently visited the new owner and was very disappointed. I left with a very big bill and felt like all he was after was my money.

I used to bring my 2 little dogs here with Dr Murray who was very good in treating my babies with care. Until another vet took over and new staffs. Receptionist is stubborn, all they are after is money and dont seem to care about your pets and owners. Last time I went in there is for my little guy who was sick and not eating well. They suggested xray and blood works almost $600 charges. My little boy was still fine when I took him back in for this tests. After a few minutes vet called me in and told me my little dog was stressed so put him in oxygen and told me he's gonna die so suggested to put him down. I was shocked and terrified and said no to them and decided to take him home. When they gave him back to me he was so weak and can hardly stand up anymore. I was told he will pass that night or next day. But he still hang on for less than a week more. I reggretted so much bringing him in coz seems like they even made my little dog's life shortened . I will never go back there anymore!

Changed owner. Patients were not informed of the change by the previous owner. Not only is the staff incompetent and does not have the knowledge to answer basic questions, the new vet clearly has no idea of what he is doing. Brought my cat because she had kidney failure. $500 later I went to another vet who quickly diagnosed pulmonary edema. My cat will be euthanized tomorrow, she should have not suffer the extra weeks. He was brusque when he examined her and inflicted her pain. This is a very sad situation because Dr. Murray who was the previous owner was a kind and respectful individual who clearly loved animals. This new person strikes me as someone who chose this profession for the money. He should have been a mortician, dead people tend not to complain as much , they would not mind his lack of empathy and it pays just as much. I foresee that this clinic won't be around for long...

Dr. Murray has sold this practice, and the new incoming vet is completely incompetent. We have taken various animals over the years and will not in future due to the change in doctors.

The best Veterinary Clinic by far. Dr Murray knows what he is talking about and very professional and caring. The girls in the office are great and always willing to take the time to answer questions. Highly recommend Dr Murray and the Clinic. The BEST in Ottawa.

the BEST quality care your pet can have, on all levels. Know him for 20 year, brilliant doctor. I wish more GPs have that much knowledge and care.

Dr. Murray is a refreshing change from the big clinics where your animal is referred to any number of specialists for things that Dr. Murray takes care of all by himself. He is very reasonable with his advice and his attitude towards testing. I find he is very balanced in his outlook towards my dog and her care. The clinic rates high on punctuality, barring emergencies, of course. My dog wasn't well last week and I phoned in with her symptoms at 1:30 and was given an appointment 15 mins later. And we were out the clinic door with our treatment and instructions for care by 2:10. I am soooo lucky that my neighbour recommended this vet. He is amazing.

Dr. Murray is wonderful with our dogs, practical and many times sees things other vets don't take the time to look for which saves clients alot of time, money and unnecessary suffering for their pets. I don't know how that guy who gave the poor rating jumps from od'ing his cat, to parrots and bird care?? If you can't afford a vet, then you can't afford a pet. Simple. We would recommend Dr. Murray - we espcially like that he is a one man show, who will get to know your animal. You won't see a different vet each time you go which has been frustrating for us in the past.

Very knowledgeable on exotic animals. If the staff do not have answers, they will either pour through medical journals on advanced and new techniques, or will refer to a specialist.
We had an animal that was diagnosed as having an infection by Three (3) different veterinary facilities in the Ottawa area; until we took it to our regular vet at Brittania Heighs. They correctly diagnosed her illness and noted she was allergic to the antibiotics we were prescribed. She was given an extra 1.5 years of life.
The only downside is that the clinic's infection control practices could use some improvement.
Oh, and anyone who is *stupid* enough to administer to their cat 3 bottles of insulin - causing kidney failure and an *agonizing* death for the animal, should stay far, far away from advice sites.

they only care about money, the vet is a phony, and is very very rude.. baby talks when he describes your pet.. when my cat was diabetic and dying, after 5 yrs of treatment. The moron wanted me to bring her in when I told him I had given her 3 bottles of insulin to put her out of her misery. I wanted advice. but instead the idiots wanted to revive her, and for me to bring her in so they could make money right to the end..and let her die on a cold stainless steel piece of metal. If you want to be baby talked to by Dr Murray, then I suggest you stay away from this suspicious, creepy guy$$$$$ He is a condescending unprofessional, moron.. with no manners.I would highly recommend another vet, he is not a aviary doctor but would be happy to work on your exotic parrot, who cares as long as I can make lots of extra $$ warning if you have a parrot ,, only go to trained specialty vets that have the experince and special training with parrots,, aviary vets.. good luck...
