Click to report rating    10/14/16   5     5     5     5   This team is fabulous. All staff at this clinic are compassionate and professional. Any treatments and proposed interventions are very well explained and there is always a discussion about risks and benefits and also budget limitations. We recently lost our furry friend and I could tell that every effort was made and the team was invested in giving her as good a chance as they could, and they supported us all the way through to make the best decisions for her. Thanks! RID: 61812
Click to report rating    7/23/14   2     4     4     2   We were happy with this vet clinic until we questioned fees for one blood test as we thought they were high compared to what we paid previously in another city. The receptionist told the vet that we were not happy with the fees. Also we were told the test must be done every year, whereas we were told by our vet in another city that only an initial test and one follow-up was required. As a result, we and our four dogs were fired as patients and told to find a new vet. RID: 52694
Click to report rating    4/6/12   2     2     2     1   This vet refuses to put animals to sleep depending on how "happy they look when they walk in the door". Its not up to the owner or anything when the dog has cancer and the owners have been up all night helping his seeping wounds. They insisted they remove the tumours and said it will for sure come back in a year or so.. but then they will have surgery all over again. The dog was old and it was his time... but the vet said no :( The fact that a vet refuses to end the suffering of an animal is sickening. Any owner should be able to make their own decision. They said that if an owner wants to euthanise there animal they tell them to wait until they see what it looks like and if THEY dont think so they wont.. So SO SOOOOOO sad that animals have to suffer because of this vet.. :( RID: 33390

Click to report rating    3/23/11   5     5     4     4   I recently moved and had to find a new veterinarian when my dog became ill. West Kootenay Animal Hospital was recommended by a neighbor and I am very impressed by the quality of care, especially in a small community like Trail. The doctor was friendly and explained the my dogs treatment in language I could understand. They even called a few days after my visit to check on how he was doing! I would definitely recommend this clinic. RID: 23767

Click to report rating    1/29/11   5     5     4     5   Friendly, knowledgeable staff. My dogs like going there and the doctors are caring and thorough. A great experience at the vet! RID: 22452
1/2/11   1     3     3     1   Our dog did not look well so we took him to the hospital. We were asked to pay immediately for the dog's stay, but the vet didn't suggest a treatment. Next day, the same thing happened. The vet still hadn't administered/suggest a treatment, but we were immediately asked to pay for the dog's stay that day. Next day morning, the vet called and said a nurse found our dog dead when she came into work. We thought our dog would be under a professional's care and hence all the fees for his stay. We were so wrong. Not only the vet didn't attempt to treat my dog, he left my dog dying by himself in a metal cage unattended in the middle of a night. Since then, heard similar stories about this vet from people in the region. The vet is ok for the routine services (shots etc), and the building is nice. BUT please do not go to this vet when your pet requires actual medical attention. RID: 21744
