This is a wonderful clinic. I've been to many vet clinics over the years and Benson View is simply the best. From the moment you walk in the door, the vibe is calm, welcoming and friendly. The front desk staff are invariably cheerful and helpful (even when clearly rushed off their feet). Everyone I've ever dealt with there appears competent and efficient. And Dr Beauchamp is a treasure: patient, kind, conscientious, an excellent communicator, always respectful to clients (even when they've made a dumb, albeit well-meaning mistake with their pet, as I've been known to do :) She has a beautifully serene manner which is soothing to both frightened pets and their anxious parents. And her diagnoses are spot-on. the first time I met her, she correctly diagnosed my German Shepherd's Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (which my own vet had failed to diagnose) and thus saved her life. I feel totally confident leaving my shy cat and high-strung dog in her care. I'll never go anywhere else :)

Benson View is the best veterinary clinic I have been to ever, and I have tried several before over the years. The doctors are very knowledgeable, make the right diagnosis and prescribe the right treatment and medicine. They take as much time as necessary to discuss a problem and give advice. They are very caring, friendly and helpful. The same goes for the rest of the staff. I always feel welcome, even if I only pick up some special food for my precious cat. Highly recommended!

I can't say enough about Dr.Beauchamp and the wonderful staff at Bensonview. I wish there was an option to select 10 stars, 5 just doesn't seem to be enough!:) I have been bringing my boxer Guinness to Bensonview for the past 4 years. Every visit we are greeted with a kind, warm welcome by the ladies at the front. They are always so personable, helpful and professional.
Dr.Beauchamp is one of a kind!:) She is such a lovely, compassionate, and caring individual. Her bedside manner with my boy is so wonderful. Guinness always feels completely at ease with her. Dr. Beauchamp is incredibly patient, taking the time to really listen and understand my concerns. She's extremely comprehensive and always provides all the treatment options and pros and cons of each with absolutely no pressure. She goes above and beyond, on multiple occasions calling me personally to check on Guinness and his health status.
Thank you Dr.Beauchamp and the fabulous staff at Bensonview, your kindness and top notch

2013 May and June comments by me received an apology from the clinic after I wrote to say "do not contact me with reminders to have my pets seen" in May 2015 - I had moved to another clinic and the reminder had annoyed me because treating a customer the way I had been treated surely had ensured I would never have returned. *Apparently staff changes have been made, so I would consider returning if my relationship at my new clinic ever fails for some reason. I was impressed by the person who apologized for her clinic after so long.

I rated punctuality a bit lower because the truth is Dr Edwards is always running late - BUT I wouldnt have it any other way. She always takes the time to listen and thoroughly diagnose the issues. In this fast paced life it is so comforting to find someone like her. She gives you and your pet one of the most valuable things - her time. She is a true compassionate professional and runs her clinic according.

Our dog loves Dr Swabey. Mention her name at home and he perks up and goes to the door, tail wagging. Compassionate, thorough, always takes the time to explain her thinking, treatment options, recommendations and why. A critical thinker who diagnosed a rare condition in our dog as a puppy that no doubt saved him from expensive and invasive treatment later and possibly what would have been a shortened life span. Always explains the cost of treatment options and has no charge for some visits. Great value for the money and expertise that we receive. Front desk folks treat us like family--friendly and knowledgeable, cleary remember us from visit to visit and always greet our dog too. Meet and greet is part of what our dog looks forward to at this clinic. We know our dog is in competent and trustworthy hands at this place and he clearly knows it too.

Recently had to have our pet euthanized after a long struggle. Both the receptionist and the doctor we saw were extremely compassionate. They had a private room with an outside exit set up for me and my dog so we wouldn't have to walk in the front office with other people. I found them all very compassionate and caring. Ive been a client for years and have no negatives. Sometimes i have to wait a bit for my appointment.. but the doctor always takes her time with me in the room.. which i assume she does with all others as well.

I saw Dr. Amber Rogers today , very kind, helpful, and explained everything - plus she was very good with Sadie. The quotes I received seemed reasonable as I called almost all the clinics today pricing things out. Benson View was the only place I could get in today. The receptionist was kind, and very knowledgeable! Good experience so far, and I feel comfortable with going ahead and booking Sadie's unfortunate surgery to extract a root. From a first time user of this clinic I feel comfortable recommending it. Good first impression.

This clinic took care of our standard poodle throughout her 15 year life, and yesterday put her to sleep at our request. They handled a very emotional situation with care, compassion, and professionalism, and I would recommend them to anyone.

We have been bringing our pets here for years now after trying almost every other vet clinic in town. My wife and I have always received compassionate care from all the doctors. Most of the time our appointments are running behind but it's a not a big deal for us. When our dog got sick last year and needed a bunch of tests we were given lots of options and quotes before they did any work, which was appreciated.

I'm startled at the negative comments. My experience over many years is exactly the opposite. I'm a dog rescue volunteer for 30+ years and have brought more dogs than I can count (including my own) to Drs. Swabey and Edwards. Specialists have told me that both Drs Swabey and Edwards are highly regarded among the vet community because they constantly upgrade their skills and knowledge. They've also renovated Benson View to include top-notch surgery suites, lab, pharmacy etc. My dogs and I have received nothing but the most amazing, compassionate, knowledgeable care from vets and staff for many years. They've never hesitated to consult US and Canadian specialists (no charge to me) and have saved many of my dogs' lives by going above and beyond the call. True, they're almost always late for appointments but that's because they take time with every patient and they're worth the wait. I LOVE this clinic and as long as Drs. Swabey and Edwards are there, I'll never leave.

I love this vet clinic. The staff are all very kind and caring. This is the first clinic I have been to where I don't feel like they are making up nonsense in order to take my money. For the most part, everyone there is very kind caring and accomodating. There is sometimes a little bit of a wait, buy the staff ALWAYS look busy, its not like they are sitting around. Dr. Swabey is awesome. I feel like she is genuinely concerned with the care that my dogs receive, and is always very thorough and detailed with regard to procedures that they need to have done and/or possible treatment options. There have been multiple times where I have recieved calls from her 2 or more hours after the clinic is closed to report important details to me, which I feel shows how much she cares about what she does. The place is clean, the staff are friendly and my dogs always come home happy as ever even after spending the whole day at a place that can be stressful for animals. I would reccommend this place!

We had to go out of Canada with our pet with no notice - we booked the day before we told the vet. For this we were berated as "no-one does this" according to them. Well when your swimming pool breaks in an earthquake you have to go and see what you need to do to fix it, and fast etc.!! Not that it is anyone's business but ours. We were clients of theirs. We are no longer after being told one pet could go and then the other would have to wait two hours - we made that our final calling, as on top of everything else, the vet. we liked there has left.

The receptionist was slow, and rude when I tried to book yesterday. When I arrived today, once again the receptionist was rude. I was told I was thoughtless for booking at the last minute - I had no choice. When I stated I would see another vet. if they could not see me, then I was told that would not work because they had to consult each other - not true. I did not feel at first my complaint was heard for what it was when I told the vet. however it seemed to be at the end. My paperwork was inaccurate for two animals, so I guess I had ruffled some feathers?

A super receptionist. The Doctor?..rude, judging & condescending. Our dog is never far from our side & comes when called but one day she was MIA. She returned 4 hrs later, shaking with excitement. I treated some minor injuries but otherwise she appeared well. Next morning her breathing was labored. Her injuries were not indicative of a car related incident but obviously something happened. Maybe she was more afraid than excited? Knocked out? Strangled? I arrived at Benson View looking a little out of sort but calm. I paid to be berated for not TYING up my dog, accused of neglect based on 2 old healed scrapes on her legs & never given reasonable cause for labored breathing. It resolved on its own. Any vet advocating dogs be tied up,is no vet of mine, especially on large acerage known to attract wildlife (deer, bear & once in awhile - cougar). Sincerely, an emerg nurse whos dog runs with lightening speed UNTIED, sleeps, walks & eats beside us & lives better than most people!

I have been a client of this clinic since its opening. Dr. Edwards is an amazing veterinarian. She has showed my animals, as well as myself, nothing but compassion when dealing with everything from shots to euthanasia. She always has provided a wide variety of treatment options and makes sure that we are clear on what to expect. For example..I recommend this path of threatment which cost approx...or we could try this path first which cost a third of the price and follow up in a few days for rediagnosis. All the staff at the clinic are very professional and show true compassion and a love for animals. I would not hesitate to recommend this vet clinic, and especially Dr. Edwards to anyone new to the area or looking for a new veterinarian.

Our 15 year old diabetic cat became quite sick. We brought him for some testing to see what was wrong. After the results came back, we were told that his kidneys were having problems, however, he had a urinary tract infection that needed to be treated. We treated him for 8 days before going to another vet for a second opinion. We brought the records from Benson View and were told almost immediately that he didn't have a urinary tract infection nor did he ever have one. He was suffering from kidney failure and if not treated, had about 2 days before he would really start to go downhill. We ended up putting our little guy to sleep because treatment at this point was not very promising. Over the week of treating the wrong illness, his kidneys worsened by double! If we had known last week, we could have started treatment/or euthanized him sooner (and not spent a week forcing medicine and food into him while continuously checking his blood).

We were a long time client of this clinic with our dog. We generally found them to be caring and professional. We had no major issues. They get the job done. On a couple of occassions we did feel a bit pressured to cary out procedures that we felt weren't necessary (non-core repeat vaccinations for example). The vet that we saw could be more sensitive to the challenges of balancing veterinary medicine with aspects of caring for someone's pet.

Took my dog to see Dr Swabey for the first time recently. After a very long wait (35 minutes) we were ushered in without an apology. Dr Swabey spoke little to me and little to my animal, though to be fair the exam did seem complete and fairly thorough. I found her manner off-putting and she brushed off several questions I had about alternative treatments and raw foods. After I had expressed my interest in raw food and home cooking she tried to sell me bagged food from the clinic and seemed annoyed when I asked her what she liked about the food (her answer was "it is made by Veterinarians" with no room for discussion of ingredients, quality, or history of recalls - this brand WAS one of the recalled brands during the Melamine scare, but she didn't seem to know that). Seemed annoyed that I didn't want to repeat treatments that hadn't worked in the past. All in all, a very bad experience and very little help for my dog's skin problems. I would not recommend and would not return.

I love this place - 5 stars! The staff are friendly and helpful and the surroundings peaceful. I took my high-strung German Shepherd Dog(who usually goes insane with anxiety before we even get through the door of a vet's office)to Benson View for the first time today. She instantly picked up the calm vibe and was much quieter than usual, even allowing herself to be weighed without a fuss, which has never happened before. However the real kicker was when we met the new vet, Dr. Kristenn Magnusson, who clearly has a magic touch with animals. My puppy took an instant liking to her and stood more-or-less quietly while being carefully examined for several minutes. Periodically she licked her new friend's face. This from a dog who has previously torn vets' offices apart trying to get away, while fighting every procedure from start to finish. I was dumbfounded. Yes, I think we've found ourselves a new life-long vet. Thanks Benson View!
