Extraordiarily expensive for care. I can deal with the cost for initial work up and treatment, but the cost of the follow ups and check visits is way too much.

Everybody is very caring and knowledgeable.
The Doctor was excellent and the Vet Tech, Maris was exceptional! I appreciate the specialties that are available there that I cannot get locally. Also, for difficult case they certainly see more instances.

the care is excellent. You may pay an arm and a leg for the appointment but you really do feel that your animal is receiving the best care possible. Dr. Brum was great. He was kind and treated my cat with the best of care. He was easy to talk to and made me and my husband feel at ease. The vet and all the vet techs that saw my cat were outstanding. I appreciate that you hire such a knowledgeable and caring staff.

Your pet will get great, competent, kind & personalized care & attention at Angell. Extremely kind & attentive staff at all levels, from reception to technicians (they are the BEST!) to specialists. My dog who is notmally fearful of vet visits loves coming to Angell & looks forward to her visits...as do we! Short wait times, easy & quick checkin/checkout, spacious & clean waiting areas. Angell provides excellent diagnostic & ongoing pet care at affordable cost. Overall excellent experience. We highly recommend it!

" To get the best veterinary medical care possible for your beloved pet and for the embracing and individualized treatment and care that one would expect only at a smaller practice, go to Angell Animal Medical Center - for both complex medical issues, emergency care, and, if you can afford it, preventive care.
The doctor was very gentle at telling me that my dog probably has a terminal illness. She showed great integrity and kindness. Angell has expertise, equipment, veterinarians, and other services that are comparable to people’s medical care. The doctors are very personable and caring professionals (most of them). They give accurate estimates and accept CareCredit… in addition to having a one time use fund for helping those who can’t afford full payment. "

Like going to B&W or Mass General vs your local hospital. Dr Loft and Dr Carroll both appear to be very knowledgeable, tops in their field from my experience.<br />
And they are friendly to dogs and people! ...

My pets love this place and all the personnel. However it is expensive. Particularly if the poet has to be hospitalized and /or needs surgery. However the care will be awesome.

Everyone truly cares about your pet. Everyone involved in my dog Dino's surgery was absolutely wonderful and helpful. I really appreciated the phone calls after the surgery checking on how he was doing. Dino is my first dog and this was the first time he got surgery since I adopted him and I'm surprised at how calm and comfortable everyone made me feel. Dino is also happy and healthy now. Overall Experience: Very Satisfied! I appreciate that people remember my dog and his name even after vet tech visits to get his nails trimmed. Very Likely to Refer.

I called MSPCA at 10pm because I noticed that she was walking funny and very tired. The receptionist told me that we should bring to ER because 1. the earliest appointment with a specialist was 5 days after and 2. ER doctor is trained to see small animals. Because there was no immediate opening to see a specialist and I was convinced that ER doctor will be able to diagnose Oreo, I decided to bring Oreo to ER. Turns out that the doctor flat out said that she doesn't know anything about small animals. She didn't know how to examine either. I got no diagnosis, not to mention a treatment. Only thing she told us was to make an appointment with a specialist. Still without any proper service, I had to pay full and upset.
When I called next morning, it turns out they had an appointment on that day. After the specialist visit, the bill was tremendous, and I decided to talk to financial office to see if there is any program that helps low-income owners (since I am a graduate student). Without

Angell is the best animal care facilty there is. The Doctors are knowledgable and caring, they are very knd to the animals and always are thorough in determining the best treatment. My dog has been through several serious health issues and thanks to her care at Angell she is a happy and healthy 11 year old Pug. Angell can be a bit expensive but the quality of care and services provided are well worth it!

Have always been happy with the level of care and expertise at Angell. I have 3 cats, 1 of which has a cataract, and another one is elderly. This is my 2nd "set" of cats, having 3 previous cats who lived long, happy lives with Angell's help. Last visit for bloodwork/ follow up appointment with a technician. Overall Experience: Very Satisfied! I think the variety of medical specialties that Angell offers makes it "one-stop shopping" no matter what your pet's needs are. I also appreciate the various treatment options/suggestions that are typically offered. Already have referred others.

These people are losers. I'll never take any of my animals here again. I don't like their staff and while the vet was ok I didn't think they were great.

The positives for this place are that for the most part the place is clean however they don't clean up dog pee in the waiting areas and it was everywhere. The Exotic Tech was nice to my rabbit than the vet was. They are totally after every last dollar you have to your name. They wanted to immidiately do a second surgery on my rabbit not even a week after she had an initial procedure to the tune of cool $1,000 not to mention the CAT scan (another $1,000). The vet didn't even want to consider 3 week antibiotic course until i told her surgery was out of the question. we are one day out on the new meds and already my rabbits is feeling better. talk about taking you for a ride. agreed they definitally prey on your emotions and have no problem slamming you with a HUGE BILL. Needless to say we aren't going back for our "3 Week" follow up. We are staying with our local vet where they care more about my rabbit than they do about the money.

This is a bad place to take your animal. They are a well known hospital, and ride that rputation all the way to the bank. We spent thousands of dollars trying to save a ferret, that they admitted (after a week stay)they weren't sure what was wrong with him. They prey on people's emotions and then hand them outrageous bills. Do they care about animals? Maybe, but they care about the bottom line most! Brought 2 cats there, and 1 dog also. They hem and haw and tell you they will observe your animal overnight and run tests, then whack you with a bill for minor ailments, that a local vet will diagnose and send you home with meds or treated successfully. I have NEVER felt satisfied here. DO NOT BRING A SICK OR POTENTIALLY SICK ANIMAL HERE. Find someone else!

My beagle saw a neurologist @ Angell and I can not say enough good things about her care. My dog has many medical issues. The neurologist explained the diagnosis and different medical treatments. I am happy to say that my dog is doing great !!

I took my Cocker Spaniel there for his cherry eye to be corrected. The did a couple tests on one day, called me in for a couple more tests another day, we dropped him off for surgery a couple days later, picked him up the next day. His face was COVERED in dried blood. Nobody had cleaned him up after his surgery! He looked terrible. That night (less than 12 hours later) my Cocker Spaniel was sleeping in his crate. It looked like blood was on his face, but it was the cherry coming back out. I rushed him into the ER...they said nothing could be done, kind of like "oops! oh well! guess it didn't work!" attitude. TOTAL COST: $2,300...what a waste. I feel totally and completely ripped off. They did offer to correct the surgery, but I would have to pay an additional $1,000 (or more). Today (1.5 years later) my dog still has the cherry eye. I've been looking for (another) eye specialist to remove the cherry, since tucking it in has already failed. I would never go back to Angell again.

My doggie daycare caretaker took my dog to Angell after he got bit in the ear at daycare. They did not clean the wound, just put some (what looked like) super glue on it and sent him home WHILE IT WAS STILL BLEEDING!! It bled (slowly) all night. Thankfully my vet was able to treat him the next morning. He had to anesthetize my dog in order to scrub the glue off his ear, clean it properly then stitch it back together. Angell Memorial charged me more for their glue job then my vet did to put him under and clean it properly. I would rather drive an hour out of my way than bring any of my pets back to them for treatment. DO NOT go to them unless it is a LAST RESORT!

I had brought my very sick cat to angell memorial hospital. She died-no fault of theirs. Their vet wanted me to have an autopsy preformed on my cat.I said no.I decided to have her remains cremated. Later that day, I changed my mind. I phoned angell to inform them that I would be picking up my catlater in the day. The doctor from Angel had already preformed the autopsy, against my wishes, assuming I would never know, since Netasha was to be cremated. This"vet", then phoned my regular veterinarian. He told me of a call he received from the vet from angell, asking him to lie to me, and not tell me that she had performed an illegal autopsy. Obviously, he did not do as she asked. I then sat down with the president of angell-at that time. He defended his employee-no apology-no compassion for me or my pet. I have never or will I ever go to angell memorial again.

A local cardiologist advised me that it was safe to have my 10 year old Burmese with a heart murmer and enlarged left atrium anesthezied to have her teeth cleaned. Two weeks later she suffered congestive heart failure and I rushed her to Angell in the middle of the night. They took wonderful care of her and worked closely with me to try to stabilize her. The cardiologist was smart, experienced and when I asked questions that were outside her expertise she would consult with other specialists. She promptly returned my calls. Compared to the vet that I had been seeing they were very inexpensive. Everyone on the staff was wonderful to my cat and supportive of me. My cat's condition deteriorated and her prognosis was poor - 3 to 12 months. I had to euthenize her because I douldn't let her continue to suffer. I can't say enough good things about Angell. I will never take a pet anywhere else for care even though there are lots of vets that are closer to where I live.

Very, very expensive! Most of the time the care is high quality though. One word of caution, all exotics are kept in one ward. We had a big problem with this because they kept our chinchilla there in temps over 80 degrees which is very dangerous for them (not sure why they didn't know this, it is basic chinchilla care). With the reptiles in the same very small room they claimed to have no way to keep it cool enough for our pet. Visit with caution!

The vets at Angell are the best :) My cat's two specialists at Angell are great. The entire Avian and Exotic Animal staff is awesome, especially current resident Dr. Mickley. All of my gerbils have gone to Angell and they have always received excellent care.
