I've received nothing but great service over the years for my cats and dog. The vets are knowledgeable, compassionate and go above and beyond to make sure your animals are well looked after. Will not take my pets anywhere else but here!

After 10 years of being a client I've decided to take both my dogs to another clinic. I've never been treated so rudely by a vet before, I feel very disappointed in how Dr Collett spoke to me. After following up on a specialist referral, Dr Collett contacted me and told me that it takes her a long time to write up one referral, and the fact that I've requested a certain specialist, she now has to write up another one. She also told me that she would appreciate the courtesy of me letting her know if I plan on contacting a specialist directly, and not to be rude to her staff. I have no idea where that was coming from. I honestly don't think I was rude, and the only reason I contacted the specialist is because one of her staff told me that was the specialist they would be sending the referral too! I would think knowing me for 10 years, she would at least get the background story, rather than accusing me of being rude, especially since she didn't hear the conversation herself.

Dr. Colett is not very patient nor does she listen to the owners - had she done that my cat would have avoided 3 different trips and attempts of bloodwork. Dr. Irwin was great but she isn't there anymore - only one or two staff members have a clue. Be careful with this one....

I have visited this clinic many times and tried both vets. Both Dr Irwin and Dr Collett recommend unnecessary tests in order to make more money. The standard of vet care is not commensurate with the money they charge. They also say bad words about other vet clinics.PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE MONEY MINDED VETS!

We took our daughter's dog in Jan. 2014 because he was having loose stools. We found all the staff very friendly and knowledgeable especially Debbie and Meagan. Dr. Collett was very friendly, patient and informative; she answered all our questions. She's an excellent Vet. and we would recommend her and this clinic to family and friends.

They encourage using poorCommercial Hills food ranked 2.5, full of additives, colour and not very good contents. Price of special supplements wayyyy cheaper online. Impatient Dr. Collit.

This vet hospital is awesome! The staff are very genuine, personable and really care about your pets well being. They didn't rush the examination and took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my cat, including what caused the issues and how to prevent problems in the future. They even called to follow a week later. I'm so glad I brought my pet here.

Dr. Irwin obviously does not know whats she's doing nor does she care about the well being of your pet. My dog needed serious attention. Told me that she will contact a specialist and get back to me about scheduling. Contacted the vet a week later to follow up and there was no recolition of what she said nor was there a record of her findings. Pathetic calling herslf a vetinarian. Obviosly praying on those that are willing to shell out time and money for their loved ones. Disgusting!

I can't believe how wonder they are! My 7 month Yorkie was throwing up right after she eats. The vet suggested biospy but I couldn't afford it so I wanted for a couple of days! The receptionist contacted me and encouraged me to go back and tells me my yorkie might not make it if she is not seen by a vet! The vet even helped me by allowing me to be on a payment plan. We found chicken bone and chicken jerky in my yorkie's tummy. Everything is removed and my yorkie is on medication now. They even said if I can't feed her medicaition, they are willing to allow me to bring her there with no extra cost! Wonder staff and vet! They save my little precious yorkie!!

Started bringing my dogs here when Dr. Zinger was still the vet. As of late, I go there just for regular checkups. I was quoted $800-$1800 for dental. One time, I took my dog in because she was getting too thin and Dr. Irwin did not know what was wrong and said she had to do more research and would get back to me. This was almost a year ago and I have not heard back from her. Facilities look the same as it did 2 vets ago.

I needed to see a vet for my dog because he's been vomiting and he injured his hind leg. I decided to give North Burnaby Pet Hospital a try because of the fabulous reviews on this website. I was received warmly by the receptionist and didn't have to wait at all to see Dr. Collett; which I thought was nice because they didn't overbook their clinic. My dog and I was also greeted very warmly by Dr. Collett. Upon telling her my dog's problems, she confidently examined my dog and explained to me in detail what was wrong with my dog and what my dog needed. She wasn't pushy, or tried to advertise stuff my dog didn't need and she was very detailed and patient. When my dog had vaccinations at our old vet, my dog would be in a lot of pain for several days, however this time, he is perfectly fine and running around when he got home. I am very grateful that Dr. Collett took such care to do such a simple task as vaccinating my dog. I've found a keeper! :) I definitely recommend this to anyone!

My experience here was amazing! I'm a first time pet owner and I have two puppies. I took them to another vet for their first shots and exams and the vet there gave "free" exams and only charged for the shots. Well, turns out the other vet missed a lot of things. Dr. Irwin here is amazing. She was so friendly and knowledgable. She has a checklist for new pet owners and goes down the list so she doesn't miss anything. Dr. Irwin is also a dog owner herself and she gave me lots of tips. Dr. Irwin's exam of my puppies found that one had an overbite problem and also a hernia. The staff here is also ultra friendly and helpful.

I trust both Dr. Irwin and Dr. Collette completely with the care of all my animals. Both are very knowledgeable and sincere and keep up to date with new procedures, medications, etc. They handle the animals with love and are very gentle and compassionate. The office is very helpful with answering questions over the phone and booking appointments on short notice. I could not imagine a better vet clinic, completely competent and a pleasure to visit!

I saw both doctors for an ongoing eye problem with my cat, and general vaccinations for my 1 year old dog. Because I needed to come back several times, I ended up seeing both Dr. Irwin and Dr. Collett. Both are great listeners, very caring, knowledgeable, but also willing to refer me to a specialist. In the end, they genuinely cared about their patients and owners! They were able to fit me in on short notice; the staff were all personable and nice; and the facilities were clean. Easy parking and fair prices; no excessive recommendations for lab tests, etc. and other often recommended precautionary tests that end up doing not a lot except create a large bill. My initial visits came to $200 for both pets, which was expected. {In contrast, the Healing Place quoted me a whopping $300 just for the initial consultation for my cat (I.E. does not include any treatments). My dog was $260 for consultation plus titer.} Ultimately, Drs. Irwin and Collett are great vets who are genuine ladies!

This is the only vet I will see in the Lower Mainland. Both ladies are very knowledgeable and always follow up on new treatments, surgeries, etc. I feel that they sincerely care about your animals, which you can tell by the away they handle them... very gentle and kind. The staff are also very good about fitting you into their schedule when you need to come in.

Dr. Irwin and Dr. Collett are both great. One comes in first part of week and the other vet comes in the latter part of week. I first went to Dr. Collett with my dog that was very ill. I really appreciated her expertise and manner. Then, when my cat got ill it was Dr. Irwin who took the appointment and I value her knowledge equally. They do listen to you and explain things about your pet's situation very well. The entire staff is very professional.

I've been taking my animals here for years. I swore by Dr. Foukal. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when the two new veterinarians took over. The old staff were fantastic (especially Alice!) I didn't find anything wrong with the new staff, but the same vibe just wasn't there anymore. I decided to give the new vets a shot when my Sheltie had a pancreatitis episode. Dr. Irwin seemed very nice, however, the service just wasn't up to par with what I once received. I wasn't confident in her ability to care for my dog. Also, Dr. Foukal had been supportive and knew a fair bit about the raw diet. I had to explain it in detail to the new vets. :/ All in all, not *horrible* service, but I'm not comfortable with going here anymore.

Great experience here. Dr. Irwin was gentle with the kittens. She guided me through what she was doing and why, gave me advice on taking care of the kittens at home, did not push any treatments and told me the bare necessities and options available and finally, she answered any questions I had. She was great to my pets as well as me and my family. Highly recommended.

As of March 2007 2 new vets have bought the practise. Dr, Vivian Collett and Ann Irwin are what the "old vets" use to be...caring, compassionate and honest.

George Foukal is a very knowledgeable vet. He cares about animals and he follows up on my animal's care, even when the animal has been referred to specialists. The cost is also less that what you'd find anywhere in Vancouver (with the possible exception of the SPCA).
