Absolutely unsympathetic office, extremely passive aggressive. No regard for the emotions of the owners. Only care about their office and money.

The doctors are very knowledgeable and down to earth. When we had to make a decision about our cat Bentley the veterinarian was very supportive and at no time did he push us to make a decision. He spent time explaining Bentley’s case and what would be the best/reasonable decision to come to. He never made us feel uncomfortable and answered all of our questions. Today Bentley is doing great after his surgery which was done by there board certified surgeon. I really appreciate all the support and amazing care from all the doctors.

My dog hurt his back leg in a slip. The doctor wanted to do xrays, mri, ect for thousands of dollars. I asked if they all were good what would he do? He said put him on muscle relaxants and pain killers. I said do that...the next day my dog was fine. When I question why he would do so many tests when there was no indication of any breakage he said we first have to find out what it isn't not what it is!!! how stupid it that?? This place use to be very good but now it's all about how much money they can get you to pay! I woun't be back. I would pay anything to keep my dog healthy but getting robbed by this place is disgusting! Praying on peoples emotions for profit?

I have been using this vet for a few years now and have never had any issues. Unfortunately we had to put our 15 year old Lab down this week and the Vet and his staff were very compassionate and attentive to our difficult situation. They made sure our Lab was made comfortable throughout the difficult process of putting her out of her misery. I do recommend this Vet for their service and value for service.

New management and staff are awesome I took our pets there from Calgary My 13 year old Pomeranian needed major dental surgery and here 2500 and Dr Sidhu did for under half that so it paid for our trip My Chichauchau was spayed and german Sheppard neutered Did not think my Pom could be done as he has 3 heart murmurs and the Dr saved his life and waking him up that old and sick speaks to his skill Also Pom liked him and he befriends no one and loved Dr Sidhu even my German Sheppard had no muzzle as he too loved him Pom would do what he asked so he really liked the doctor We care who works on our family members and will go back to BC and Dr Sidhu as he is the only vet to give my pets extra pain meds for after surgery as he really cares and I did not relize they hurt like us after surgery If you love your pet go here and even from alberta is worth it to go here and pet gets the care they deserve We will never go anywhere else again!

I took my cat here to get looked at and it was the same as some other people, without asking questions he just told me what I owed him and wanted to do everything to her even though it was unecessary!! He called me back and told me to come in to see the results so I did, he wasn't there and the vet tech had no idea when he would be in or where he was and said she was new and she was by herself! He hasn't answered any of my calls since and just wants money from people. HIGHLY UNRECOMENDED!!!

I was referred to the clinic so I had high hopes but when I entered the clinic there was a funky, dirty smell about it. When I met the vet (Dr. Sidhu) and told him a brief breakdown of my cat's history all he did was ask how much I paid for this and that. He didn't even take my cat out of the carrier until he had to. I don't feel like he likes cats or knows what he is doing. He was very concerned about money in a "how much can I get out of you" way. He even wrote a quote on a post it note!! Not professional and I have no confidence in his abilities as a vet. I question his education and training. NOT RECOMMENDED.

He is a hack. My dog got a small cyst removed. Stitches came out after 3days. He said it would be fine. Well it wast wond opened up and it's infected. He aplied cream to her open wound with no gloves on. Bandaged it up but now her paw has swelled and she's in a lot of pain. This vet does not even like animals you can tell.

The staff here are the best. Dr. Sidhu is a man filled with passion and care for animals. I have a dog with Addison's Disease and Dr. Sidhu is spot on with how he cares for my Wendy. His assistants are informed and knowledgable. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for above average veterinary services on this side of the river!

This clinic seems perfectly wonderful to me. Every vet has it's flaws and from the looks of these comments half these people don't even have a clue what they are talking about. I myself had worked in the vet business and it is clear to me that these negative comments on the treatment of their animals is nowhere near the truth. There is no understanding to someone who has never had experience in this job area that this work is not easy. when an animal is ill trying to find a vein is hard and they are doing their best to try and help the animal rather then poking it over and over...If your not willing to do the treatment offered u may always say no. The vet is merely just reccomending the best thing for you sick animal. Prices are very reasonable and dr.sidhu is always willing to take half the payment if not able to pay full. He has a very big heart and is only doing his job. Same goes for most of the receptionists, caring and understanding :)

I brought my dog in for vomiting for 2 days and not eating or drinking. The vet immediately wanted to do X-ray, blood tests, iv, abc and antiemetic. Without giving us time to discuss he just kept pushing us to everything. We agreed but my husband had to do al lthe holding of our dog, the vet never once talked to our dog or tried to do anything. The first thing he said to us was "does he need a muzzle" but if he payed any attention to him he would immediately realize that he is the friendliest dog! I would NEVER recommend!!

I have been to this clinic a few times and have had nothing but a wonderful experience for my pets. The staff was more then helpful and the vet was wonderful! He did not overcharge and my dog healed very fast after eye surgery. His prices are cheaper then other places, and not once was I pressured into anything, after all you can just say "no". I do not live in Maple Ridge anymore, however will still make the trip to this clinic.

I have recently taken a course in the veterinay field and have discovered that they way he neutered my dog was completly wrong. He netured my dog as if he was a cat. Instead of making an incision on the skin he made it right on the testicles. This causes more bleeding, pain and the chances for infection are higher. When i learnt this i was mortified. Not only was my dog in pain for awhile, he was bleeding from his testicles for about 2-3 days. I called to talk to the doctor but a rude receptionist assured me that the bleeding was `normal`. Also when i picked him up, he was still drugged and couldnt walk. The receptionist told me that they had done the sugery later then execpted so he didnt have as long to recover after the surgery. I understand that yes, they are very cheap, but now i can see why they are so cheap. Personally if i were the vet, i would want whats best for my patient, and i wouldnt be cutting corners just to make a quick buck.

My dog seemed very sick and we weren't sure if had eaten something outside so we took him here because our normal vet was at a conference. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with "Oh.. I am on my lunch break" we said "our dog seems very sick" and he said "fill these out" we quickly filled out the single paper and waited about 5-10 minutes while we could hear utensils and plates in the back... Once he saw us he asked if our dog had eaten chocolate or rat poison about 10 times. And we answered no over and over. Then he said "well I close at 4 so you should go to the 24/7 clinic" IT WAS 2 OCLOCK!! He just did not care at all!! DO NOT GO HERE! (and we went to the Animal Emergency Clinic in Langley and they were amazing and efficient and knew what was wrong just from our description!)

I have been using this clinic for a while now and was shocked to read all these unhappy reviews. The staff have always been incredibly friendly to me and my friends who also go there and Dr.Sidhu has done amazing work on my animals. He really cares about them and is very thorough when he examines them and provides medication. They have recently acquired some new staff members who seem to be just as caring and concerned for my animals. I highly recommend them. Their prices are very competitive as well and it's always clean.

This review is meant for the newer doctor. I took my kitten there for her to get spayed and I just had the absolute worst experience ever. First off, the guy doesn't explain anything properly. He seems to want money first, and he doesn't even look like he cares about the animals. We took our female kitten in, and he spayed her, told us to keep the cone on for one week. So after a week, I called and asked the vet tech if I can take the cone off and she said yes. Turns out it was too early, and she bit her stitches off. I took her in immediately and before even properly examining the stitches, he declared that she had an infection and right away demanded $50. After that, he told me to wait 3 days and bring her in. I did, then after 3 days he said 3 more days for it to heal. The guy is just absolutely clueless. I will never, ever take any animal there again. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. The only half decent thing about him are his prices but I'd rather pay more for quality treatment

Dr. Paranjeet Sidhu: I brought our family dog there last march(2010) there to be put down, and while he was 'TRYING' to put her down, he couldn't find the right spot to put the needle so, he was repeatedly poking her in the leg with a needle causing her pain and to start bleeding. It was not "quick and painless" as they always say it is she was starting to close her eyes, he was drugging her slowly. Yesterday, our other dog ate some bad food and was rushed to this hospital by a family member of mine. Where he was unable to attach an IV (again) They shaved BOTH his front legs trying to get an IV in, so he has wounds on his legs from needles poking in and out. Then they decided to try the back leg which they were able to get a needle in. So they shaved it and finally got an IV in. last night I was holding him and I noticed something weird under his chin and they shaved his whole neck & he had wounds from them trying to get an IV IN HIS NECK!! Do not go here if you love your pet.

dr sidhu went out of his way to match the price of another vet clinic and did not try to upsell anything or gouge my pockets, was very kind and the dogs love him. i called him with a question and he called me back asap. his staff was also very friendly and professional they all really care. hes my vet as he genuinely cares for my dogs so much so that after only 1 visit he remembered both of their names. i would recommend westgate animal hospital to all my friends

I took my sick cat there who was 13 years old. I told him I would like to save her if I can but if she was too sick to let her go. 700$ later he said she was getting better and could go home, she died 24 hours later. I am very mad!

The vet had a basic lack of knowledge. He took a biopsy and told us results would be back in 2 days. Less than 24 hours later he said that the results were inconclusive and recommended two more expensive tests. Lack of basic skill in taking tests and obvious uncleanliness was evident. Blood was drawn without gloves and no identifying label was put on the vile. My husband was left to hold down the dog while blood poured out of the needle area. Stay away if you value honest, skillful care for your pet.

We have been taking our cats and rabbits to this clinic for years. Good value, vets are empathetic, never have had a bad thing to say about them! Saved my cat after he had gotten into rat poison, was very caring and kind when I had to put one of my rabbits down.

Dr. Varinder was great but much to my surprise, he sold the business to someone else. The people who run the clinic now are the worst ive ever encountered.I took my dog there for his rabies booster and the dr. that did the shots didn't seem to care. all he wanted to do was upsell other shots. Also told me that my dog had an ear infection and needed antibiotics wich after having it checked ny someone else, he didn't have an ear infection at all. Also it looks very umprofessional when you are greeted by a receptionist with many piercings.

wonderful care for our precious pets. THEY DO NOT OVERCHARGE, AND TRY TO UPSELL YOU!!!Prompt, caring, and genuinely kind.... and not the big box feel of others in Maple Ridge. I like to be able to see the same vet everytime we have to go.I feel confident our pets are safe in their hands. Good pet health care , should not be rated by the amount charged on your bill...excessive cost does not assure you will get any better care than at Westgate. With them the pets seem to come first, before the bank account!

Dr Virinder is a wonderful vet.He treated us with so much kindness when our cat had to go through rat poisoning and eventually having to be put down.He brought the price down for us and showed genuine concern for us.It is very sad that he has sold the buisness. We had the misfortune of going there with our dog in distress from eating chocolate just before Christmas 09 and my husband was assured that they would wait for us as they were told that I couldn't be there untill almost closing.I get there at 3:50 my dog vomits on the floor and the guy tells me there is nothing he can do and gives me the number for the emergency clinic in Coq.If I knew he wasn't going to treat my dog then I wouldn't have waisted my dogs time to get help by coming down just to be turned away.It was awful and all the doctor could say is sorry. We have taken our dog to another vet and will not go back to this animal hospital.

While I have never been to this clinic myself and several other people feel to be aware of it. My aunt adopted a kitten that was in their front window that was extremely sick. They took it to their vet who gave it a 50/50 chance of making it and the kitten was placed in an oxygen chamber. This kitten was in a veterinary clinic why were they not taking care of it as it was extremely sick. If they dont take care of the creatures they are responsible for then who knows what they are doing to other pets. No one I know from my vet assistant program or vet tech program would apply there. Also their prices are rather low which makes me suspicious as to how they are covering their costs for certain important things. I am basing this off multiple people's feelings about this clinic and will not go there myself.

Dr Varinder is the nicest Doctor we have come across in some time he's not out to rip you off like some of the bigger Vets in Maple Ridge were we have been chargesd for re-checks and been taken to the cleaners for un-needed tests and Meds.Told the only way to take X-rays was to spend 100 to but dog to sleep so they could then charge me more for the X-rays then to tell me later that the first ones were no good so we had to do it again,But not Dr Varinder he is a soft spoken Vet who cares about your pet and dosen't see them as cold hard cash to be billed to you. He is located behind Save _ On at 203 and lougheed right next to the Source (the old radio Shack)
