    | | 12/31/08 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 1 | I'd taken my cats and dogs to Povar for years because it's close to home. When one of my became debilitated because of old age, I knew it was time to put her out of her misery, even though it broke my heart. I made an appointment and brought her in to Povar. After keeping us waiting ( as usual), a woman brought us into a back room, like a storage area with a desk and a chair in it. Without any forewarning or kindness, my poor old girl was given an injection that hurt her. She let out a sad, low wail and the woman took her from my arms and carried her out of the room....my cats eyes were open as she was was whisked away from me. It was the coldest, most heartless procedure I could have ever imagined. That's why I'll never take any of my pets back to Povar ever again. | |
    | | 7/10/08 | 2 | 5 | 4 | 3 | I took my pup to povar based on a recommendation. During my first few visits things were ok (but not great). I am quite meticulous about my dogs health and his vet care, and when I adopted him he has abnormal blood counts. Because of this, I had his OLD records sent to pov. and at our visit, they claimed that they hadn't recieved record and basically accused me of telling a lie. Long story short, I got into an argument with the people about the missing records...and the fact that they did NOT give my dog an annual exam, when that was what his appointment was actually for. In the end owner called to appologize about the offices' conduct. I also found that the vets were somewhat rough and were cold in the exam rooms. My pup had an infected cut once, and they charged me for the initial visit AND wanted me to come back for a follow-up exam AND PAY for it. (The follow-up was basically to say that, "oh the antibiotics worked and you can remove the e-collar")...I didn't wast my money! | |
    | | 3/30/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 4 | Povar was reccomended to me when I first adopted my puppy. It is a remarkably new, clean facility with the friendliest staff I've ever met. They all have a real way with the animals - and their human counterparts as well (which is just as important!). | | | |
