Dr. Kramer intentionally made my dog suffer. She honestly should have her Vet License suspended indefinitely. I wouldn't trust this Vet with a mosquito. Trust me, stay away. So many other good vets out there.

Dr. Goldberg is an exceptional doctor. I would have a real problem trusting anybody else with my furry family. My friend had a dalmatian with skin allergies, food allergies, hip dysplasia, IBS and that dog lived to 13. She then rescued a 4 year old american black lap that had Addison's disease and she lived past 13 - both due to the care of Dr. Goldberg. He has been caring for my Havanese for all of her 7-1/2 years and I am so thankful to have someone I can truly trust with her wellbeing.

Very expensive. Also, they focus too heavily on naturopathy and have forgotten the importance of conventional medicine.

Dr Goldberg is my favourite vet. Having left Vancouver and having seen different clinic's throughout BC recently, I have more praise for him now. Homeopathy is never perfect, but to do both traditional and Hollistic and do them well is rare. Location and facilities are great, all the staff is caring(this is important, everywhere has one or two great people). I was there for the traditional Vet care, and not a bad word to be said about my experiences. Best of luck in the future Dr Goldberg.

You don't need to make a drama out of a crisis. I find this place over-dramatic in diagnosis, over-priced and in my case almost totally dismissive of me as the owner. They seem very nice and very helpful on the surface, and are probably skillful technicians, but I have found them lacking in judgement. They were insistent on a course of treatment for my dog that cost me over $1000 and was wrongly diagnosed, despite them running an expensive test to determine the cause, and I knew it was the wrong course of action and they wouldn't listen to me about it. As an example of their pricing a regular spay here is almost three times the price of other vets. I can't decide whether they are just overly cautious in their approach, or trying to make a lot of money from people that are very attached and caring about their pets. I switched to a great vet that gives solid practical advice, no fuss diagnosis & reasonable pricing and am very happy with them.

I've been a client here for years and have taken different pets here. The staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and always seem to strive to do better. I have had to go to other clinics as well for various reasons, and this place has always served as a touchstone for my pets' healthcare. I would strongly recommend this clinic.

Dr. Goldberg and his staff are outstanding. They work as a team and include owners in all decisions, providing the information necessary to make those decisions. Having been to many other Vets, I find Dr Goldberg to be relaxed, compassionate and knowledgeable. It's a very supportive environment for both pets and owners. The clinic is clean and has good parking for easy access. I did not find his pricing high compared with other Vets, nor did I find that he promotes unnecessary procedures, testing or services, in fact I found the exact opposite, he's more likely to take a conservative care approach. The holistic remedies he recommended worked wonders on my cat's allergies. His knowledge and support around raw food was very much appreciated!

I love this place! My cat an dog have each seen two different vets who have each been fantastic, addressing some chronic pain issues that have gone undiagnosed for years. My cat is a new (and much less grouchy) kitty as a result! While the upfront costs are higher, I've been given a number of free follow up and phone consultations and it's ended up costing way less than other vets in the long run. In the end, I just *trust* them with my animals and that is a very tall order for me.

Reasons for my ratings: Staff(2): While the receptionists/vet techs are pretty good (around a 4 out of 5) I find Dr. Goldberg to be a fraud in the holistic side of things even though he claims he's a holistic vet. (I've finally found a truly holistic vet and it's night and day) Facilities(4): It's a clean place, looks good, has good equipment and sells raw food, what more can you ask for... Punctuality(4): Never waited longer than 10-15 minutes past my appointment time. Monetary Value(2): EXPENSIVE (although Vancouver in general is pricey for vet work. (I pay almost half the price since moving away from YVR)

I've been coming to see Dr. Goldberg with my various pets over the years. I've never had someone more caring and compassionate with my animals. I always feel like we are working together towards a solution rather then just being told what to do.

Dr. Goldberg has been our vet for 12 years and through 4 dogs. He is compassionate and knowledgeable. He always outline 3-4 options for care and lets us make the decision. He is always upfront about the cost of each. The follow up is excellent. He calls and discusses test results over the phone. He remembers all of our dogs. I actually don't think this clinic is pricey. We drive all the way in from North Delta because of the quality. If people knew what our own visits to the Dr. truly cost, they wouldn't be complaining about vet charges. This will be the only vet we ever have.

If you love your pets, stay clear away from this "hospital." Staff cannot fill an order correctly, regularly give wrong medications/remedies. Every level of this clinic from Reception to "Dr" Michael Goldberg is incompetent. He has a revolving door of veterinarians and Julie Ann Lee that he does not remain on good terms with because of his treatment of them. Go to Julie Ann Lee who is a homeopath guru and veterinary technician who real veterinary professionals rely upon. She gets the right remedy the first time around and does not guess for months on end. It is scary when staff tell clients they are job hunting/planning to quit to travel. Lack of professionalism all around. Most interesting, Goldberg surfs these boards and I have seen negative ones removed because the truth hurts. The positive ones on this board are posted by his family members and staff.

This vet is the first vet's office that I've actually had my dog run into! He loves visiting with the girls up front, and doesn't even shake in the exam rooms. Having had several bad experience before at different vets offices (including a really expensive bill with no estimate before hand), having a vet and staff sit down and explain estimates to me before we do anything is fantastic.Dr. Kramer and Dr. Goldberg work really hard to help you understand what is going on with your pet. Timing can be a bit off, but the atmosphere makes you feel okay about waiting.

I just recieved a quote to spay my 2 year old rescue and was told because she was a mature dog that the price would double to close to $700. I find this incredibly unethical considering the increasing number of un spay/neutered stray dogs. For a clinic with the word "Wellness" in its name it really doesnt seem like you care about the Wellness of dogs. The worst part is it feels like as a dog owner I am being punished for rescuing a mature dog as opposed to purhasing a puppy from a breeder. Slightly backwards.

First of all, run from this clinic while you can! The are money ****s, they make you do all these tests, and they make you sign a form that makes you agree to pay for the specifics plus whatever else they do to your animal in the back( and they always manage to add far more than the tests that the vet discussed). Dr Sue Pollen ( if you can call her a "doctor"), from the xrays that she performed on my cat, misdiagnosed by cat with arthritis. However, when I brought the xrays to two other vets, the two vets agreed that there was no arthritis, but instead my cat had a luxating patella. How could Dr Sue Pollen miss this? More to add, the vet techs are inexperienced. One of the girls was trying to "poke" around at my cat with a needle, instead of just injecting her with some meds. The girls who work at the front desk, especially the long haired brunette one, are extremely pushy. This clinic tries to sell you a lot of unnecessary synthetic supplements/meds/ and services,

Overall I have had great experiences at the Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital. Sometimes getting into the exam room is a bit of a wait but, of course, it is a Dr's office. Appointments and procedures are on the expensive side but in my opinion you get what you pay for. Friendly staff, kind and patient Drs, I definately recommend this hospital to everyone.

They diagnosed not over symptoms but what seems to be, the amount of money they would get from me. After something that ended up being quite simple after the breeder looked at my puppy, this guys charged me almost $2000 dollars for almost killing my puppy (and yes, I had insurance... that was what it didn't cover). They injected him with all sorts of medication, put a catheter (after failing twice and leaving 3 of his legs all pinched and swollen) proceeded to 700 dollars of tests just to tell me that "he needed surgery immediately", which was not the case. All my puppy needed was to be kept cool and well hydrated. After they insist in you signing approvals, they don't even care to consult with you what the procedures will be and they just keep on adding stuff to your animal and numbers to your bill. If you care for your dog and not going bankrupt... avoid this place like the plague.

Our dog has been going there since he was a puppy. I have to say they provide excellent care. Our dog had a major illness about 7 months ago. We were down on our luck and had little money. We called them and told them our dog's symptoms and our financial situation. Immediately they asked us to bring the dog in and Dr. Goldberg allowed us on payment plan. Our dog was not recovering due to other complications and the bills kept rising. We kept paying but couldn't pay up within the time frame. And yet, they never refused any treatment to our dog. They truly cared about our dog and we will be forever grateful to Dr. Goldberg and his staff.

This is a very professional clinic that provides the most practical care necessary. You are provided natural and homeopathic options as well as conventional treatments, that you don't get at most vets. Care at the clinic and the follow up is excellent. I have tried 4 other vets and none come close to this. Costs are slightly more than others but you get what you pay for - excellent care!

The vet was first rate here. Our Boxer had a staph infection that was touring his body, which got misdiagnosed at our previous vet. We went here for other related treatment but they felt the initial diagnosis was incorrect and were very insistent on being thorough....I'm glad they were, otherwise our buddy might have been dead.

I would NOT recommend taking your pet here. Office management is a major issue. Each time I visited the clinic it was chaos. Punctuality is beyond poor. I had 2 seperate appointments at the clinic, both appointments were at the start of their work day. I sat waiting in the waiting area for 20+ minutes, as they didn't have a room to put me in (overbooking!). Procedures were recommended for my pet, costing around $2000. After a 2nd opinion, I had the procedures preformed at a different clinic for $600. My issue here isn't even about the money. I want the best for my dog. I expressed this concern to the staff, who said they agreed, but failed to demonstrate this. AWH wanted to put my dog through many unnecessary procedures for no reason. I had other tests preformed at their clinic. Shortly after I received a call from them informing me that the samples had spilled on the way to the lab & my dog would have to come in for another 3+ hours to have the test redone. GO ELSEWHERE!!

I've been going to this vet for a couple years. All the staff are friendly knowledgable and helpful. The checkup costs are a little higher than some others but the quality you receive for the few extra dollars is exceptional and well worth it.

Dr Hughson and Dr Goldberg provide outstanding care for my dog. She's a nervous dog that early on learned to mistrust people and the staff there show such empathy and compassion for her...when most clinics would muzzle her, they handled her without one.

Simply excellent. They take my wishes into consideration when making recommendations, and are absolutely fantastic with my aggressive rescue. The staff are pleasant, and while they're not cheap (but you get what you pay for!), they try to make things as affordable as possible, such as recommending books to read... and then buying them back when we're done with them.

This is definitely worth the price. It's not in the low range, but it's affordable for anyone with average wage and above. They offer homeopathic services as well as conventional medicine. Their facilities are exceptionaly clean, the staff is very kind, the environment is friendly and comfortable.
